ABQ Intl Balloon Fiesta is coming up October 3 - 11. I have spent the last several years stalking balloons with a camera in the Bosque, but there isn't much of a river left. I can chase them around Corrales, though. 😀 #Albuquerque #NewMexico #bucketlist #travel #hotairballooning #weekendgetaway

Cerrillos, Spanish for "the little hills," was known for mining before Europeans arrived. In fact, Cerrillos has the longest historically intact record of pick and shovel mining in the Southwest. Humans settled in this area as early as 500 A.D. Puebloans discovered gold, lead and turquoise deposits.
