So unlike hopping back and forth between Three Houses and Three Hopes, which is the same set of characters in a different timeline, hopping back and forth between Three Hopes and Fortune's Weave causes more narrative whiplash, so to speak Both games have a LOT of characters and don't share them

Makes sense, of course The two games take place in the same universe, but they're, like, a thousand years apart, so it's of course two entirely different sets of characters in two eras, on top of the games being located on two different continents

The body and mind have more needs than just the basic necessities for survival and hygiene, and I suppose I've been kinda falling behind on the other ways of taking care of myself I have free time; I'm just not using it for enough things Perhaps tomorrow, I'll commit to doing more with my time lol

I'm starting to ramble because it's past 2 AM for me and I need to go to bed, and my yapping gets worse when my brain is winding down for sleep time I suppose the takeaway is remember to take care of yourself Staying hydrated and fed is important, but you also need to take breaks from your routine

I also haven't been on a walk in a while I've been out of the house a reasonable amount being brought along for things, but it's been a while since I went on a walk simply for the sake of my mental health Being outside and experiencing different sights, sounds, and smells is an important thing

But outside of that, it's been a long time since I've touched a musical instrument or touched FL Studio, and as such I still haven't gotten myself to sit and watch tutorials on how to use that program If I understood that program, I'd be making music, and that'd surely be stimulating for my brain

Even within the realm of using my free time to play video games, I have a goal of playing the Half Life games for my first time, which I have a feeling is a far shorter endeavor than Fortune's Weave because at the pace I'm personally making progress in Fortune's Weave, it'll be a LONG game for me

Of course, by filling my free time with this highly engaging pair of activities, I tend to find myself at the end of my day with the realization that the other things I have in my mental "I want to do this" list have been pushed back another day because I'm out of time and have to go to bed

The eternal struggle lol A lot of my free time these days is a combination of listening to stuff on YouTube and playing Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, which, between its story missions, is mostly just a long string of decisions about how to spend my in-game time, so I'm able to split my attention

For me, the answer is as simple as this: Because I want to :v Some games are dumb fun, some games are smart fun, some games make me feel like I'm working toward a goal, and some games feel like a test of what my mind and hands are capable of But regardless of the details, it's because I want to

Anyway I had fun jumping around a Stormtrooper and getting arrested :v But after that, I didn't really feel like I had enough reason to continue playing, so I deleted the demo shortly after I suppose this is a way to end the post with something thought-provoking: Why do you play games? 🤔

Well, it's more nuanced than "having fun", because some games aren't designed around "fun" vibes, but I guess a better way to put it is that games are media and media is supposed to enrich your life in some way, be it through fun, making you think, giving you an interesting personal story, etc.

That's how it is for me, anyway; some people can play Overwatch every hour of every day and have fun the whole time, and I'm happy for anyone who can get that out of any particular game, because games are for having fun, and if the game is doing that for you, it's doing its job

Overwatch is fun, but in the way that potato chips taste good It will always give you a little satisfaction, but if that's practically all you're eating, that satisfaction dries up more and more quickly each time you make the decision to eat it, until eventually, the satisfaction just isn't there

As I said, the actual list feels endless if I tried to list every game I've accumulated through buying them on sale but haven't played yet, but as I've said, I'd rather have lots of games I want to play than run out and be bored enough to start playing something like Overwatch again

This backlog includes, in no particular order, the Half Life games, Persona 5 Royal, Hollow Knight, Deltarune, and more I also want to replay the main campaigns of the Master Chief Collection Halo games, the Metroid Prime games, and also replay Undertale for context for stuff in Deltarune

Even at the discounted price, whatever it was, I had a feeling I'd have been disappointed if I paid for this game, and I had other games I was interested in, so I didn't buy it My backlog of good games I want to experience is practically endless nowadays anyway

I like the idea of this game, but the demo didn't excite me as much as the concept does, and the reviews I read were largely disappointed that the game doesn't come close to living up to its potential and certain things become too repetitive for their liking

Back in July, I tried the demo of Star Wars Outlaws while the game was on sale, and even after playing through the main mission of the demo, I think this clip I took messing with this Stormtrooper and getting arrested was the most fun I had playing it lol
