Legends of Avantris' YT stream has a lot of funny faces to study. I've neglected colour, mostly because it needs more setup and time commitment. There's a sunk cost in getting ready, so interruptions sting a lot more. Maybe getting a tiny travel kit would help. #BadArtHabits #sketching #watercolor

#BadArtHabits I tried to learn to draw without references. I kept hearing “don’t get dependent on the reference” from teachers, and watched kids get piled on for copying other artists. I internalised it and stopped looking. Still relearning one of the most important tools in the box. #Sketching

#BadArtHabits sneak up on you - rules you make for yourself without thinking about it, maybe just absorbing it from teachers or other artists or the general vibe out there. For me, waiting until something is finished before I share it often translates to never finishing and never sharing. #Sketching
