On 6/23/2026, DHS issued a proposed rule that would nearly DOUBLE naturalization application fees and eliminate fee waivers and reduced-fee options. This increase would put citizenship out of reach for many people. Becoming a U.S. citizen shouldn’t depend on how much money you have.

The Trump admin has paused all immigration and naturalization processes for people from one of the 19 travel ban countries; including Cuba and Venezuela. Even people who fully passed the citizenship exam are having their cases put on hold, just inches from the finish line.

🚨Today #SCOTUS ruled to limit federal judges' ability to issue nationwide injunctions -- a major setback for efforts to stop unconstitutional attacks like Trump’s push to end #birthrightcitizenship. Importantly, the injunction will remain in place for 30 days while lower courts weigh in. More ⤵️

Allison came to the U.S. from South Korea as a teen. After the heartbreaking loss of her mom, she spent years focusing only on work. That changed when she decided to become a citizen. With help from Hamkae Center, Allison started her citizenship journey and became a citizen.
