I was sad to see the first women’s baseball league home run because the announcer had no energy or hype. I needed a GOODBYE BASEBALL moment that had me weeping at he momentous occasion and instead it wasn’t replicants but so dryly dictated. We need to find the woman version of Dave Niehaus.

It’s time for professional women’s sports to get some dynamic and compelling female broadcasters to sell the game to us with their enthusiasm and mastery of language. Having former athletes color commentate is fine. But we need to start hiring performers with voices that draw us in.
