After feeling a bit isolated for a minute, it was good to get out and be part of something bigger.

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 09/09/2025

Had a wonderful weekend of hobbying, catching up with lots of friends, and realising that maybe 3rd edition Horus Heresy is actually fine? Good even? Somehow Lloyd and I also won best warlords, which was a very pleasant surprise! #HorusHeresy #Warhammer

Streak 3 Day 6 🔥- And that's 5! The one on the right is looking a little too bright, but after the pin wash is done I'll edge highlight and then go back and get my grading right. #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

Streak 3 Day 5 🔥 - That's some more colours down on tactical 4. I have noticed they're getting brighter as the squad goes on, so I may have to double back and properly re-highlight. #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 10/08/2025

Streak 3 Day 4 🔥 - Much more exciting, got some more paint down on another tactical, and brightened up the other 2 to match a bit more closely. 2 more left in this batch, then pin washing time. Once these are done, I need to get some Wolves going. #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 10/08/2025

Streak 3 Day 3 🔥 - Not nearly as exciting as yesterday, but it looks like the heavy bolters for the Shadowsword printed nicely. Not quite sure how, since the supports went a bit crazy. #HobbyStreak

040

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 09/08/2025

Streak 3 Day 2 🔥 - Absolutely loads done today, feeling very positive. Got some more layers down on the 3 tacticals from yesterday, and managed to do a bit of work on the Shadowsword conversion too! #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak

040

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 07/08/2025

Streak 3 Day 1 🔥 - Took a day off, and back at things with some layers down on the remaining TSons in this batch. I'm very keen to get going on the Shadowsword, and not just because of the looming deadline, so I'll be doing some modeling tomorrow! #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

060

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 05/08/2025

Streak 2 Day 23 🔥 - Shadowsword's stripped and very conveniently broken apart for what I want to do. Will start taking measurements and designing parts tomorrow. Maybe paint some more TSons too. #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy

040

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 04/08/2025

Streak 2 Day 22 🔥 - A total departure tonight in the light of the very exciting Legacies list released today. Dug out a *very* old Shadowsword to strip it of its now 3 layers of paint. Will hopefully be showing off a lot more of this tank as I try to convert it to match the LI design. #HobbyStreak

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 03/08/2025

Streak 2 Day 21 🔥 - I'm doing it! I'm batch painting! The days of painting one marine's leg in totality are behind me! Desperately trying to remind myself not to do the metallics before I varnish everything this time. #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak #MiniaturePainting

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 02/08/2025

Streak 2 Day 20 🔥 - Every day I feel more that I need to get a lightbox. Saw I'd done nothing on marine 1's legs, so started some highlights going there. I said I'd put it down to keep the batch moving, so got some preliminary colours down on marine 2. #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Streak 2 Day 19 🔥 - Pushing the contrast a bit more on this first tactical, but I said I'd paint these in batches and this is where I'll leave this one to dry. #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak #MiniaturePainting

081

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Streak 2 Day 18 🔥 - Properly getting colours down on my first batch of 5 and it feels so good after so many days of just building marines. Trying to work with a more ice-yellow top-end for my highlights to avoid the ash/dusty effect I got on my tester. #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

060

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 17 🔥 - Well well well, Colourforge really knocked it out of the park with this one. Had to get a little closer than I'm used to, but the colour is vivid, the finish is perfect, and I've still got a good 2/3rds of the can left! #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbtStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 30/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 16 🎉 - I have stared into the drilled bolter hole, and the drilled bolter hole has stared back. Why did I decide all 5 needed drilling on every bolter? #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak #ThousandSons

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 15 🔥 - My fledgling Thousand Sons are on the very cusp of being ready for priming! Sculpting's all done, last few printed bits just need gluing down (excluding the last khopesh that seems cursed), and then a lot of barrel drilling tomorrow. #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy

040

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 28/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 14 🔥 - While I think the goal of priming tomorrow is going to be a bit of a stretch, everything being built is now dangerously close! #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 27/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 13 🔥- Wrote this up last night and then fell asleep, whoops. Tactical Squad 1 is built! Planning to hit it hard tomorrow and get Squad 2 and the HSS sorted. Goal is to prime on Monday! #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 26/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 12 🔥 - Not much time today at all, but found a few minutes to get another tactical together. Slow grow challenge starts tomorrow, so hoping to hit it hard on Sunday and get things all built up then! #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 25/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 11 🔥- Not loads again tonight, but that's another tactical marine for the pile, some gaps sculpted over, and the third autocannon ready to fish for rending hits. #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 10 🔥 - Tactical Squad 1 is now half way! Really enjoying these MK2 kits, despite the slightly insane frame layout. #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

010

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 23/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 9 🔥 - Not a lot this time, but got a pair of autocannon marines together. Really pleased with how they're looking! I did slightly over enthusiastically remove the supports on one of the helmets; some restorative sculpting will be needed. #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 22/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 9 🔥 - Big day of building, all the torsos are made up, the test print of remix of my favourite autocannon design fits beautifully, and there's even a fully constructed tactical marine! #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 21/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 8 🔥 - The primary detachment gathers! Somehow managed to end up without enough bases though, whoops! #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak #ThousandSons

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 20/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 7 🔥 - Ended up so busy that I didn't have time for more than wiping off the streaking I'd done yesterday. Still, ready for attempt 2! #HobbyStreak

120

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 19/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 6 🔥 - Back to the tanks and just having a bit of fun pushing oils around and seeing what looks nice. My Azo Brown is much greener than I expected, so next iteration will work some reds in. #SpaceWolves #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

140

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 17/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 5 🔥 - Only a little bit of hobby time today, but got some arms on the Khenetai (missing ones notwithstanding) #ThousandSons #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak

010

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 16/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 4 🔥 - Big night for hobbying tonight! Sat down with some pals and chatted all things 30k for a good 5 hours while I tinkered with these. Khenetai are really taking shape, and giving my Space Wolf tanks a second weathering pass feels well overdue! #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy #ThouandSons

040

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 16/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 3 🔥 - Home straight for the Centurion/Praetor now. Just some last few bits I want to touch up/smooth out once all the sculpting is dry. Made a start on getting the torsos made up for some Khenetai too. #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons

010

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 15/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 3 - I'm always so gently amazed when press molds work, and I don't know why. Not too far to go for this guy - I'll be frying loyalists in no time! #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 13/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 2 🔥 - Little more work on the Praetor today. Having seen more of the 3rd edition ruleset, I'm a bit more optimistic about it all. I'd love to see some more unit options and models' loadouts be made WYSIWYG again though. My poor Varagyr. #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 13/07/2025

Streak 2 Day 1 🔥 - As it feels is inevitable, ended up a bit swamped with things and took a couple of days away from the painting table. Back in the saddle with some work on a Praetor and some Khenetai/Sergeants for my budding Thousand Sons! #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 09/07/2025

Day 16 🔥 - An extremely busy evening meant there was very little time to paint, but I did manage to get the messy initial pin wash down on some Space Wolves reinforcements. #HobbyStreak #HorusHeresy #SpaceWolves

050

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

Day 15 🔥- Only just! Little bit of a departure today, but I definitely count this as hobbying; my first proper digital kitbash! A sneaky flamer Azebz, made from a few wonderful bits by Mr Jarrrrrrr #TrenchCrusade #HobbyStreak

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 06/07/2025

Day 14 🔥 - The big two weeks! I'm thrilled that I've been able to keep this going for this long, normally I'm dreadful at getting things painted. While a single tactical marine in 2 weeks isn't too impressive, it's given me a lot of hobby keen! #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak

130

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

Day 13 🔥 - Trying to get transfers to work with the shading on the shoulder pad. It feels like a magenta glaze has worked well enough? Feel like I'm really paying for having to put down such a thick layer of oils over a bad undercoat too! #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak #ThoysandSons

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

Day 12 🔥 - Feel like this is really coming together now; the purple pin wash felt like it really pulled things together. Last few small details to go, then on to transfers! #Hobbystreak #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #MiniaturePainting

080

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 02/07/2025

Day 11 🔥 - The sun is slain! Felt good to actually have energy to get into painting after work. Worked a little on the metallics for my TSon, and found the time to work away a little on the very cyberpunk Block for my NuCA #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #HobbyStreak #InfinityTheGame #Panoceania

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

Day 10 🔥 - Barely any gas in the tank on the hottest day of the year, but still managed to get a little bit of shading done and work on some bits I'd inexplicably ignored! Hoping to finish metallics tomorrow! #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak #ThousandSons

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 30/06/2025

Day 9 🔥 - As expected, very little productivity in the heat. They may not be my shiny "new edition new army", but they've been my only faction since Betrayal at Calth, so deserve a little upgrading every now and then! Looking forward to playing them in 3E. #HorusHeresy #HobbyStreak #VlkaFenryka

030

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

Day 8 🔥- Really hot today, so didn't get that much done. Hotter tomorrow, so wouldn't be surprised if it's even less productive. Still, at least oils are drying a bit quicker! #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #InfinityTheGame #Panoeceania #HobbyStreak

070

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 28/06/2025

Actually Day 7 🔥 - too hot to focus on painting, so threw together some more fellas for my Space Wolves. Namely a jump Apothecary, a 20th assault marine for if I need to make a big combined unit, and since vanilla Centurions seem very useful in 3E, one of those too!

000

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 27/06/2025

Day 7 🔥 - Worked a little bit more on my test TSon, adding some edge highlighting and building up the white. While that dries, I got some more colours down on my Bulleteer and Bolt missile launcher. #MiniaturePainting #InfinityTheGame #Panoceania #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons

Day 5 🔥 - pushed the contrast a little more on my Thousand Sons tester, but worried I've overdone the pink now. Will try a red glaze once all the oils have dried. #MiniaturePainting #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons

020

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

Day 4! Last few details on their boots and finishing their bases to go. Maybe I'll spend day 5 learning how to take some half decent pictures of them 😅 #miniaturepainting #infinitythegame #panoceania #WIPwednesday

NeverFayedAway @neverfayedaway.bsky.social · 24/06/2025

Giving this a go. Can't say for sure, so let's say Day 3-ish. Working on the test mini for a 3E Thousand Sons army #HorusHeresy #ThousandSons #MiniaturePainting

Ugh actually fine I'm not done - because I see people already falling for it, let me just pass down something on Political Exploitation of the Law and how it is a series of Insidious Traps made to make you look Weird. Do not fall for it. Do not play them at their game, they rig it to win every time.
