Today, Attorney General Ford announced a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling affirming that Nevada’s gaming laws apply to sports-event contracts offered by Kalshi, Crypto.com and Robinhood. The court unanimously rejected Kalshi’s challenge to Nevada’s authority.
Attorney General Ford Announces Victory Over Kalshi, Protecting Nevada’s Right to Regulate Sports Betting -- Aug. 28, 2026Direct quote: “Today’s ruling is a major victory for Nevada and our longstanding authority to regulate gaming in our state,” said Attorney General Ford. “Kalshi sought to sidestep Nevada’s gaming laws by claiming its sports wagering products were federally regulated financial instruments beyond the reach of state regulators. The Ninth Circuit rejected that argument and made clear what we have maintained from the beginning: sports betting does not become something else simply because a company calls it an ‘event contract.’ Nevada has built the gold standard for gaming regulation, and we will not allow companies to circumvent those protections or operate outside the law. Our office is proud to have defended Nevada’s authority, and we will continue working to protect Nevadans and the integrity of our gaming industry.” -- Aug. 28, 2026

Attorney General Ford Secures Court Order Temporarily Blocking Postal Service's Unlawful Mail Voting Rule -- Aug. 28, 2026Direct quote: “President Trump's latest attempt to interfere in Nevada’s elections has, thankfully, been blocked,” said Attorney General Ford. “This rule would have imposed impossible last-minute requirements on our election procedures and put eligible voters at risk of being disenfranchised. I have no doubt that we will ultimately prevail in this lawsuit and Nevada’s sovereignty will be protected from the president’s efforts to upend our state's free, fair and safe electoral system.” -- Aug. 28, 2026

These new conditions put that care at risk for families and communities across our state, and I will continue fighting to protect Nevadans’ access to affordable, quality health care.” -- Aug. 27, 2026

"This settlement will bring money into Nevada that will go directly toward educating and protecting our children, but, most importantly, it will implement changes that will drastically change how children can interact with Meta’s products. This settlement is strong, but it is not the end. Today, AG Ford announced he is co-leading a coalition of 25 states suing USPS over a new rule that seeks to regulate mail voting. The coalition argues the rule interferes with states’ ability to administer mail voting and risks disenfranchising voters.
Attorney General Ford Sues Postal Service Over Unlawful Attempt to Interfere with States' Vote-by-Mail Procedures -- Aug. 26, 2026Direct quote: “President Trump has made it clear that he will never stop attempting to interfere with the rights of the states to conduct their elections, and I want to make it clear that every time he tries, we will drag him to court and we will beat him," said Attorney General Ford. "While the president spreads lies about our democracy and our elections, Nevadans know that the Silver State’s elections are free, fair and safe.
