Please come and see my poster at #Sfn2025 on how layer 6 callosal projection neurons modulate visual processing and convey ipsilateral eye responses in the monocular part of the visual cortex. Session Number: PSTR072 Sunday 16th November, 8 am - 12 pm

Layer 6 corticocortical neurons are a major route for intra- and interhemispheric feedback
Cortex-wide projections onto primary sensory and motor areas display substantial interhemispheric symmetry in their areal input identity and are primarily feedback in nature due to dominant inputs fro...

3/3 Thanks to a fun collaboration between the @neuroinformatics.dev @sainsburywellcome.bsky.social and the Animal Navigation group at the University of Oldenburg (my hometown). Special thanks to @raacampbell.com for the amazing microscopes😍

2/3 The atlas is accessible via the standardized BrainGlobe Atlas API: brainglobe.info/blackcap This allows the community to directly align their own experimental multimodal data to the common coordinate space of the atlas, see example:

1/3 This atlas was created by whole-brain imaging of multiple blackcap brains using serial-section two-photon tomography, followed by average template construction and expert anatomical and functional segmentation.

Mapping the magnetoreceptive brain: A 3D digital atlas of the migratory bird Eurasian blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla)
Birds undisputedly range amongst nature's foremost navigators. To successfully navigate between breeding and wintering quarters, they, in addition to other natural orientation cues, rely on their abil...

New preprint! We built a 3D brain atlas for the migratory and magnetoreceptive Eurasian blackcap. The atlas is available in @brainglobe.info, and is hopefully the first of many! Full details: brainglobe.info/blackcap Preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... Short thread:
