The leading cause of spinal cord injury (SCI) in Ontario is #falls. Falls can happen at any age, but older adults are especially at risk. Once someone has an SCI, they are also more likely to fall (or fall again) than the general population.

📚💡Back to School is almost here! Did you know that your child DOES NOT have to be symptom-free to return to school following a #concussion? It is ok for concussion symptoms to mildly and briefly worsen with activity as kids return to school.

❗What you do in the first few days following a #concussion is important. In the past, patients were told to have absolute rest. Current evidence, however, suggests that light and cautious activity, with rest as needed, can be part of the recovery process.

June is #NationalMigraineandHeadacheAwarenessMonth! People with TBI can suffer from pain/headaches immediately following their injury & throughout their recovery. Pain and headaches can have a negative effect on recovery - thereby, making proper assessment & management of pain/headaches essential.
