I think the pinching is due to the curve vs flat bar between the two rings, and not so much the thickness of the gauge. The locking PA doesn't allow as much rotating or sliding, so it ends up pinching more as it gets pushed around. I don't think there's a fix for this but wearing baggier pants 🥺
