#Collaborativehousing does not scale up on its own: it needs public policies, institutional recognition and stable alliances. Property developers cannot be the only actors enlarging the housing stock.

Network of Cities for Collaborative Housing @netcoproject.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

The question is no longer only whether collaborative housing works, but how it can grow without losing its community dimension. A European institutional perspective —with contributions from Amsterdam and Brussels— to think about.

The full room confirms that collaborative housing is entering the European urban agenda and is becoming a relevant part of the local public conversation. Even the mayor of Montpellier has shown up!

Full and warm room in Montpellier for the public event of NETCO, the European network of cities and organisations working to promote #collaborativehousing in response to the housing access crisis. We are talking about local governments, affordable housing and collaborative models.

Network of Cities for Collaborative Housing @netcoproject.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

Network of Cities for Collaborative Housing @netcoproject.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

000

Network of Cities for Collaborative Housing @netcoproject.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

100

Network of Cities for Collaborative Housing @netcoproject.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
