It shouldn’t be possible for it to have been that long ago.

20 years later. For the 15th time on the big screen. For the 25th time total. Reporting for duty.

She did this commission for me, which was a gift for my parents. They (and I) cherish it to this day. Happy Ramona Fradon’s 100th 🎂

Hangs on the wall in my home near the bulk of my Bond books. I look at it at least once a day, and every look brings me joy. Thanks again!

In the highly unlikely event that any are left over, would you sell them online after the show?

Increasingly, Soylent Green serves as one of the best metaphors for AI -- it's taking all that we are, as people, chumming it up, and feeding the slurry back to us. We're told that we need it, it's nutritious, it'll save the world, even as it damns it and us.

Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

Recently unearthed a postcard-sized one from when I was a kid, and now absolutely need to display it.

Image of Paul Newman from the late 1980s in Fast Eddie Felson garb on a pool table reading a book in and advertisement for libraries, with “Read” at the top, and captioned “Paul Newman for America’s Libraries.”

This is an argument to bring back neighborhood theatres, not kill the very concept of theatrical exhibition.

Quote this with the first four Horror movies that come to your mind that are 10/10s for you. No cheating. Just the first four that pop into your head. The Haunting (1963) The Shining (1980) The Texas Chain-saw Massacre (1974) The Thing (1982)

Got to see this one on the big screen at last. As usual, it did not disappoint.

Very saddened to hear of Robert Redford's passing. He seemed a man who walked his talk as best he could, and his work both in front of and behind the camera brought much joy. Some favorites, in no order:
