In a pinch, a towel can be used as a cape.

The current anime cours are reaching episode 12 - marking the end of summer. It has been a lot of critically red temperature maps of a season 2026. perhaps our last summer?

you know when you're sitting with one leg tucked under you in your chair, as one does, and then you get up to go downstairs, walk for several steps, and when you go down the step on the stairs and realise that that leg you were sitting on had gone to sleep.

"linux iso" is usually a euphemism. but in this case it was an actual linux iso.

100

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

What's the name of that feeling when you use torrent to download an actual linux iso?

120

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Apparently is has been going on for years. It's the option to opt out that's new.

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I met Tony in person at a client meeting and obviously had to, was required to, go "Heyy Chopper guy", replete with finger guns at him. Tony look at me for half a second and ignored me for the rest of the meeting.

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

and yes, I know I'm making snap judgements without knowing their story and circumstances. Will I regret it? maybe. And random story, 10 years ago, had a client who picked Toni Toni Chopper icon in company chat. Turns out he was a 70 year old man who just happened to be called "Tony". no relation.

Might be a software developer thing. It's somehow the last place where it's okay to openly bully people for their work. Your code reflects your thought process and your code always sucks. Or just a human thing, you look for commonalities. Used to be "hey, one of us!" not it's just random jackasses

120

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

And another thing to make us feel old; You just can't trust people with anime pic profiles anymore. Fuckers these days be having a background in UI/UX design and on a mission to "improve" things everywhere. Especially this generic ass perfunctory looking one.

120

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

so twitch, the streaming thing, is using your content for training AI by default. and it seems the opt out toggle is broken to the "on" position in the privacy settings. I say let them then. With the garbage we produce, they're the one who will lose.

120

NerdOnTheInter.Net @nerdontheinternet.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

You guys get previews? on linux, I just get generic icons. apparently there was "feedback" asking for a "better" way to select sources.
