He's trying to fight off the hands controlling his life, but he still hasn't quite managed it. Past!Link is covering the mouth of present!Link, preventing him from voicing any concerns about his life. Link accepts this limit on his life without any hesitation. Past!Zelda covers present!Zelda's eyes, preventing her from seeing the truth of her life. While Zelda has managed to peel off some of past!Zelda's hands, she's ultimately a little too willing to be blinded by hate.

But different contexts will always reframe how people treat media and so the context of the movie's release does inevitably make it FEEL more anti-capitalist. I'm not gonna pretend I wasn't moved by the emotional journey of Wil E. Coyote. I was moved as shit.

At the risk of assuming people would ever act normal about things, I think if this movie had released normally, audiences would broadly treat the film's corporate villains as just any other corporate villain in a comedy movie. Like, kind of serviceable for the plot.

As I sit with it, I'm torn between my love for the film and also my urge to sort of temper how some people talk about it. Coyote v Acme is definitely skewering the bosses but the story of its attempted erasure has given it a sort of mythical anti-capitalist status that it simply can't live up to.
