...I just realized, I'm older than Lieutenant Matilda was when she passed. She was the first one to treat me like my own person, instead of an extension of my mother. I have more people in my life like that now, but I can't help but miss her, a real positive role model to me.

It doesn't have to be, I think... If I'm understanding correctly, you're a completely different Kai from him, right? I'd just say that if you ever feel generally more motivated, keep in mind to have a healthy work-life balance. My Kai seems to have forgotten that along the way...

I woke up and poor Kai was looking awful. I think it's just a bad cold, but painful nonetheless. I'll be taking care of him as best I can; he's still asleep right now.
