There cannot be such a thing as a nuanced take in a space where how we view and respond to takes is based on parasociality. Straight up people see it’s me saying something and either sign on or lambast it simply because some like or many dislike me respectively. Nuance isn’t a one-sided thing. 🤷‍♂️

As I’m knuckling in editing my very first video essay I realized that I have the components and tools to make my first AMV in like almost 20 years. And it’s an idea that I’ve had for like 15.

Neon, Ennie & CRIT 2026 Nominee @ PAX U @neonsaline.com · 26/09/2026

That’s really true. It’s also like “who really has mental energy and time these days” when responses aren’t immediate aroused by anger

I too don’t really look for that from wider social media spaces, but more private avenues I have are also very dry. Working with people is cool but I’m also working and in school too. I’ve actually almost burnt out 2x this year because I was squeezing in working on other people instead

I hate that, as a creative, a lack of interaction feels so damn personal when it’s like the number one thing we all have trouble with. How does one counteract feeling like you’re screaming into a void without bowing to things like being overly inflammatory or making ragebait?

A 13 year old game that I'm sure at the time was an exploration of 'what would this be like/this is a cool concept' looks more and more like a cautionary tale.

I know I just talked about Remember Me on "Fun" and Games - shout out to @djstormageddon.com - but constructing a video essay about it at this point in time is a little wild.

Castlevania turns 40 years old today! The first game was released September 26th, 1986 for the Famicon Disk System.

Finally knuckling down to start editing in Final Cut Pro and I have to say that it's WAAAAY more intuitive than I was expecting. I managed to figure out a little title card for the video essay I've been working on. Paid Patrons got to get a look to help me decide to use.
