Nothing like a look back to the past right? I´m still proud of that character design and it´s one of the best monsters I´ve designed for sure. Also I´m happy that it´s officially a member of ToonMan´s rogue gallery. Can´t wait to draw him in future issues.

David Velásquez ( Neon Rocking Visuals ) @neonrockingvisuals.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Unfortunately my variant cover is not going to be published by Antartic Press and will not be on the shelves, but it will definitely have his moment to shine thanks to Hot Damn Comics later on and it will also be included on a future trade paperback. So I´m very happy about it.

David Velásquez ( Neon Rocking Visuals ) @neonrockingvisuals.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Also, if you guys are not following Hot Damn Comics, they announced that they are going to be published by Antartic Press from now on so you are going to be able to get those sweet comic books on the shelves from now on, how cool is that right?

Guys, I´ve been super busy and totally forgot to tell you that I made two awesome covers for the HotDamnComic´s Fang Hunters comic book. There is only one that is amongst the variant covers for Issue#5 for the moment on the Kickstarter, so go back cover J! www.kickstarter.com/projects/nat...

What's Up, Docs? Here's our newest NRG archenemy versus pic featuring Toonman up against his most personal archenemy, Mara Mason, drawn by NRG artist Juan Paolo I love how Juan made Mara a looming Threat over Toonman, because that's exactly the kind of enemy she is to him.

I´m a baby on BlueSky and creating a fanbase from scratch takes a long time. I would love to leave all communities, portfolio sites and social media apps that use AI ( they all allow it btw ), but I would lose the clients I have made there over the years. It´s a double sword dilema for sure.

000

David Velásquez ( Neon Rocking Visuals ) @neonrockingvisuals.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I wonder the same. In my case I´ve been on Deviantart for 21 years now, and I´ve made very good clients there that still give me work so I couldn´t just close my account that easily. But all the art communities and portfolio sites are flooded with AI stuff anyway, Artstation, Tumbrl, Pinterest, Cara

David Velásquez ( Neon Rocking Visuals ) @neonrockingvisuals.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I never did any of it because I always felt it was a "tool" created with hate against artists and art itself, to remove the joy of making art from the world. But what I hate the most is that artists themselves also welcomed this new technology because it was the trend and labeled as the future, Ugh.

000

David Velásquez ( Neon Rocking Visuals ) @neonrockingvisuals.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

... but I´m also starting to think it´s a lost cause. If real artists ( who make a living of it ) don´t understand is not ethical to use a "tool" like that and the repercussions that it creates then what are we doing anymore. I´m tired to trying to make people understand.

David Velásquez ( Neon Rocking Visuals ) @neonrockingvisuals.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

So, I´m seeing a lot of fellow artists ( and very talented by the way ) surrender to AI, using it for concept art, making music, teaching students is ok to use it if you don´t know what to draw, buying figures and cards made with AI... I mean, I´m super disappointed of them...
