Web developer, emigrant, nerd, pun-creator. Bleeting about code and miscellaneous distractions I find while I'm building internet things. Probably more optimistic than I should be, but I don't think that's a problem 🗩 they/them 🌐 andribraun.dev

BRB, investing in Canadian gong manufacturing
A screenshot of text that reads "The full list of fresh items slated to face tariffs as of Thursday, was issued late Wednesday afternoon. It includes jewelry, watches, tricycles, video game consoles, smartphones, umbrellas, gongs, golf clubs, fishing poles, and lighters."

My pointless Facebook debates honestly don't usually go straight to the other person straight-up admitting that they're pro-authoritarian and racist.
A screenshot of a Facebook comment addressed to "Andrew Braun". In the post, the commenter asks "What's wrong with authoritarianism specifically?" And goes on to argue that Georgian and Ukrainian lives are being sacrificed in an unwinnable war that will ultimately result in Ukraine losing land. The commenter then criticizes European liberal democracies because they "lock you away for advocating for your ethnic group not being displayed as the majority", and argues that this is a bigger threat to Europe than Russia is.

Being kind is usually free. A lot of the time, it's literally just doing nothing instead of doing something that hurts another person.
A meme-format image of Mariann Edgar Budde, a bishop who gave a sermon that U.S president Donald Trump attended. She asked him to show mercy and be kind to minorities. The next panel is a still of the two angel characters from the show "Good Omens". Crowley asks "What was it she said that got everyone so upset?" Aziraphale replies "Be kind to each other". Crowley then comments, "Oh yeah, that'll do it."

Holy shit y'all, I just used Midjourney's edit tool to add a sunset, make a picture wider (by adding more content), and change my shoes. Absolutely bananas.
A picture of a non-binary person with long hair on a rooftop terrace in Bologna, Italy. The person is dressed completely in black and has brown hair and glasses. The rooftop terrace is red tile with yellow stucco, and the background is filled with red slate roofs, yellow walls, and brick towers. The sky behind is gray and cloudy, and raindrops have been falling on the roof.A picture of a non-binary person with long brown hair, dressed entirely in black, sitting on a red tile rooftop terrace in Bologna, Italy. The background is filled with red slate roofs, mountains, mist, and a beautiful orange-red sunset. The image includes more of a chair, railing, and plants on the side than the initial version did, demonstrating the AI editors capabilities.

Just found a "y2k_compliance" variable in an old PHP app I'm working on. This program is almost as old as I am.

I love how Jira has a "misclick here to maybe destroy your career" emoji reaction
An emoji menu with a large grid of emojis, including hands in various positions, parts of the body/face, and generic human smiley-faces. Most notable, the cursor in the screenshot is hovering over an emoji called "Middle finger", which is an emoji of a hand with a raised middle finger. On the bottom of the menu is a bar with a larger version of the emoji and the code used to call the emoji, which is :middle_finger:

Current work view--gotta love unexpected warm November days!
View of a laptop, keyboard, second screen, and mouse on a table on a terrace in Tbilisi. The sky is blue. On the left side there is a tan-colored, slightly ramshackle house. On the left is a soviet apartment block anda newer white and gray apartment building.

Might be common knowledge, but the "Computed" tab of your inspector shows styles with a little arrow on the left side. Click that arrow and it'll show you the cascade of styles affecting the element, letting you see which styles the applied one had to clamber over to get to the top
A screenshot of the "Styles" and "Computed" tabs in a browser Inspector window. It shows the display property currently set to "block", with a list of classes and HTML elements below it that are crossed out because they're not applied. .feed-right-sidebar is applying the class of block because, as is visible in the styles tab, it applies display block at min-width 1280px. In the computed tab, there is a crossed-out .feed-right-sidebar class below the first one, showing display none. As is visible in the computed tab, when min-width is not 1280px, display should be set to none.

This demonstrates the "Computed" tab's ability to display the cascade

How does Clerk auth have an official SDK for Tanstack Start, but the Svelte one is community-maintained? I mean, Svelte being what it is, you could probably just use the JS SDK, but still
A line of framework logos with the names under them. From left to right, Next.js, React, Remix, Astro, Expo, JavaScript, and TanStack Start

Did your GitLens commits view suddenly disappear from your VSCode source control sidebar? Don't panic (I did)--this was apparently part of the GitLens 16 update and you can get it back! Second image is how it looks if you continue--the new interface isn't bad, tbh, just could have been more obvious
