Wake up. Make breakfast. Do email. Watch a murder. Go to a party for a 5 year old. Laugh with my daughter. See a different angle of that murder. Hear govt officials slander the victim. Play Barbies with my kid. Feed her dinner. Tear up at that victim reading last honors to a vet. Put kid to bed. USA

If a goal feels too big and overwhelming, just lower the stakes. Instead of running 100 miles in a month, set a goal to run for 5 minutes a day. Just show up and create the habit.

Most overlooked thing in system design interviews is making quick back-of-the-napkin calculations. how much data? how many users? storage or bandwidth needed? Small estimates save big time when making architectural calls

System design interviews aren't about finding the perfect answer... Real value is listing options, showing trade-offs, and talking through why you choose one path over another There’s always more than one good solution

The front page of ttrpglist.com is driven by reviews btw. The competition is pretty low.. if you wanted to put your game on the front page, you you probably do it with a few reviews… Just saying…

I launched my first website in my dorm to sell skateboards. 15 years on, I've realized every project is just small hacks and determination. Nobody masters everything, we just keep trying and learning.

The idea of getting it right the first time hits different In software we lean so hard on testing and rework. What would it look like if we had no QA teams?

nemo @nemo.foo · 26/05/2025
Debugging isn’t just a hurdle. It’s where understanding actually happens. When ai fixes things for you, you skip the learning. the gaps show up later, usually when everything is on fire.

the best measure of progress on any project? working software that actually runs talk is cheap. shipping real code is the difference how often are you delivering something that works?
