DIGGER is Iñárritu’s ASTEROID CITY. But unlike ASTEROID CITY, I quite enjoyed DIGGER. The big swings, conviction and DR. STRANGELOVE humor — it all worked for me. And the assembly hall sequence alone cements itself as an all-timer actor’s showcase (kin to Peter Finch’s meltdown in NETWORK). Bang! 💥

Love how the new billboard (that’s been going up at Beverly & La Brea) for DIGGER — a film about an eccentric oil and gas tycoon — looks like it has its shovel dug into a gas station. 🪏

Q&A with writer/director Na Hong-jin, actress Hoyeon and composer Michael Abels after a PRIME at AMC screening of HOPE 📽️ HOPE is a balls to the wall alien monster movie romp! A whiplash zag from his last film (the slow burning masterpiece THE WAILING), Na’s new film never lets its foot off the gas.

Where was all this OBSESSION enthusiasm/acting Oscar buzz for SMILE 2 back in 2024? Naomi Scott gave one of the all-time horror performances. A knockout piece of acting.
