*Fortunately*, there's a ton of no-subscription alternatives to Adobe's stuff out there that aren't made with gen-AI tools so again, people need to look at their other options and, crucially, promote those if they want to encourage the ones that aren't part of this nonsense.

To put it another way, recomps/decomps done purely and professionally can actually be good for ensuring some video games outlast their original platforms ...the gen-AI made ones however, are opportunistic and are too prone to unchecked bugs and corruptions that they go against preserving *anything*

(For what its worth, I do actually own a European Wii version of "Twilight Princess" and that's my rationale for the version of it for "Dusklight" I'm currently using. Once again, "Dusklight" and most if not all recomp/decomps *do not* include the ROM or ISO data for the relevant games.)

But at this point, people definitely need to be more open and loud about what exactly interested people who dislike gen-AI can do to avoid using the vibe-coded projects, but I worry that won't happen 'til too late because everybody this year is perpetually angry and people want to keep it that way.

It's absolutely unfortunate that the gen-AI made projects are giving decomp/recomps such a bad name, but many of them are *not* made that way and besides, either way these projects do not bundle any ROM or ISO data into them so there is a reason it's not as thorny as emulation.

I'm currently playing "Dusklight", as I never played "Twilight Princess" all that deeply, but you can BET I pulled out all the stops to make damn sure no AI was involved with that before trying it. I'll be as careful for similar projects later too.

People have to be VERY dilligent with the recomps/decomps by paying extra attention to the "contributors" section in the Githubs of them. It's annoying to have to do but effective in weeding out the projects made with good intentions and those...that aren't.

I decided to bring this up this way rather than lead in with my feelings because at this point, I want to know what people see in it. My first Zelda was "Wind Waker" and I've played plenty of other 3D Zeldas, 2.5D Zeldas and "Link to the Past". And I really like the latest ones the most.

But being overwhelmed and exhausted by the position, especially given the circumstances where she ended up in it, is no excuse for adding to the divisions and in-fighting between folk who just want to harmlessly express uniquely. So she should talk to some really good, trustworthy people on that.

At best, she was likely too vulnerable emotionally to be well-suited to being an admin to such a huge endeavour. At worst, she did not help the fractured state of how others view each other whatsoever and that takes so much more to make up for than making a couple of journals then moving on.

I know its an emotionally loaded position given how she fell into being the head of FA and she has every right to sometimes feel overwhelmed when she does, but I also feel it doesn't excuse throwing several harmless sub-communities under the bus ahead of her admitting "mistakes".
