jesus tapdancing christ talk about a hair trigger

a stupid online argument on github.

nekkowe: "Not interested in your vibe coded fork, sorry"

birdie-github: "It's OK to spout absolute nonsense. What if I told you that Google, IBM, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Red Hat, Oracle and countless others have started using vibe coding extensively in the past year? And models like Astra, Opus 5.5 and Gemini 4 Argon often produce better code than seasoned developers?

You can continue to use the old, buggy, insecure application if you want to. It's "pristine" and "human-coded". It has basically no issues ... except that it crashes frequently and is much slower.

Ah, you only use "slop". Except you're on GitHub, which also uses slop.

Also, enlighten me. The original app has effectively been dead for six years now.

Where are all the prominent C++ programmers picking it up and reviving it?

Where is the Open Source power?

Or Linux users, of which I've heard there are at least 40 million, are only capable of consuming but not actively supporting and investing?

Yeah, "AI slop", except, no, the truth is you belong to the the anti-slop/progress tribe.

Sorry for the noise."

I think I put my foot in my mouth with Hammond exactly one (1) too many times for him to be as chummy with me as literally everyone else. But dang if we didn't all make it back

Hey, is there *any* way to make @libreoffice.bsky.social calc charts not look horrible… The default colours aside, this "stacked area chart" isn't even consistently stacked, there's like... a split-off group of series in there overlapping the rest near the top somehow...? What's HAPPENING here.

There was one point where I just tried to find & chart out Places That Would Make Decent Race Tracks. I never did test any of those out with anyone else... all this stuff probably looks completely different now...

seconding this...! i'll add that if it's just for listening to offline, without like a youtube video, there's Blanket (on linux) and its derivative projects (on windows/mac/android), all free / open source i like that it lets you save presets and add your own stuff github.com/rafaelmardoj...
