The premise sounds like a great starting point, but - who is your audience, exactly? Males, 18-25? Females, 45-60? Those are very different segments with different devices, patterns of engagement, and spending. If you haven't done that research and dialed it in - do that first.

Tracxn had me on to talk about what gaming investors look for now. The short answer: an audience you can name and a business model that fits it. Tracxnの動画で、ゲーム業界の投資家が今何を求めているかについて話しました。明確なオーディエンスと、それに合ったビジネスモデルです。 go.haldar.co/tracxn-bsky

My latest Linked In post: Indie free-to-play does not sit well on Steam. A premium game does not sit well on mobile. Platform by itself is not a strategy. www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

DICE Summit is coming up and I can't wait to see old friends and talk shop and do some business. The operations and finance work I am doing is helping good studios raise money, run faster, make money smarter, and solve for real problems blocking their growth. Looking forward to it!

As a 30+ year game dev with more than a few AAA's and award-winning titles under my belt -- I am so angry. I guess EA Spouse never meant anything to him or possibly to Sony, and that is disappointing. The mentality of "disposable talent" destroys us all.

2026. Cloud gaming, Steam, the premature death of consoles, and the blurring of handheld gaming (mobiles? Steamdeck?) seem to be good topics rn. Not touching AI (yet). CES craziness for now and then more headlines. Here we go.

Team and I are gutted, the next day three people are reassigned and the rest of the team is laid off. I swore to myself I'd get into Business Development and never let that happen to a good team again. So I did and I haven't.

Demo day turns into full portfolio review and all teams are cranking to show progress. My presentation is ready, showing milestone details and to-go work and budget remaining. I'm 10 mins into my preso and head of BD says - didn't you get my email? License was too expensive. Can't build the product.

I was a Senior Producer at a former publisher -- they cranked up a dev team (eng-heavy) to "do the impossible" and ship a full AAA licensed sports title in 11 months multi-platform. First build review was 100 days from start, so the team cranked hard and agreed to some crunch to get the game to a...

Seems like Bluesky is getting a fair number of game devs and game publishers, so here I am. Happy to have been here for awhile and see the growth!
