The nurse throws acid over it. It causes a special effect. Fortunately the doctor has a gun because all American doctors are armed. Healthcare isn't a right but guns are.

The patient is gone! He's been replaced by a blob. Du dun dun!

They seem very keen on the late night spooky movie show. Wonder whether the blob is showing.

Back at the meteor crater the kids find a meteor. And a house. And a dog. I think the dog is going to be a major character.

The blob is currently eating a guy. Steve took him to the doc We're now at the doc's. The music is ominous. The subtitles tell us so.

Steve McQueen is 18, playing 18 or so, but looks about 40. He always looks 40. Although it seemed to be a thing until the 70s where people look very old.

Tonight's movie is The Blob. I think this pretty much defines 50s sci-fi schlock.

Yes. I've lived in 3 other European countries. The UK has its quirks but it's very European in outlook.

Anyway, Hugh decides not to demolish the building Sandra wanted to save. They end up falling in love. Which is kinda stupid, because Hugh is still a jerk. A charming jerk, but on the whole, unchanged from the start of the movie.
