A Christmas Message From Neil ✨ Read here: thedivinecomedy.com/news/christm... #NeilHannon #TheDivineComedy

A Christmas message from Neil Hannon. It reads:
"Dear everybody, Season’s greetings to one and all. It won’t be a long ‘Neil’s Christmas Message’ this year. Partly because I’ve a lot of shopping, wrapping, decorating and spare room tidying to do. Partly because I’ve a glass of sherry in my hand and 'Elf' lined up on the TV. Mostly because I’m quite lazy.
Suffice it to say, wow! What a wonderful year. Thank you so much to you all for buying the album and coming to the shows, and generally being the most super-nice fans a purveyor of slightly left-field music could have. Many more shows in the new year of course. Do come again!
In the meantime, have a relaxed and harmonious holiday season. Let generosity and forgiveness be our watchwords. All the best, Neil."
The photograph shows Neil sat at a piano with an array of pretty lights in the background. The photograph is by Kevin Westenberg.

'All the Pretty Lights' Watch at: youtu.be/bd8tyszMgTk Listen here: lnk.to/AllTPtyL 👉 More about the gorgeous video by Mathieu Persan and Maéva Pensivy at: thedivinecomedy.com/news/all-the... #TheDivineComedy #AllthePrettyLights #RainySundayAfternoon

We are delighted to present our gloriously festive video for All the Pretty Lights, created by illustrator and long term Divine Comedy collaborator Mathieu Persan with animation by Maéva Pensivy. Links to watch the video and listen to the song are in our post.
Neil says: "Mathieu and Maéva’s video is a thing of beauty and wonder. We share a love of classic fifties graphics, and this seemed a great opportunity to fully inhabit that world.”
Mathieu explains the process: "We wrote the script to match as closely as possible the very moving lyrics and the emotion - sometimes bittersweet and tinged with nostalgia. Neil wanted a classic mid-century aesthetic, so I drew inspiration from the great illustrator Miroslav Šašek to recreate a childlike and joyful world. Maéva then created the animations, inspired by the wonderful Hanna-Barbera productions, to bring the images to life and give them a fresh character. The result: a colourful and cheerful little film that looks as though it came straight out of the 1950s."

New Single 'Invisible Thread' & Video! Listen here: lnk.to/InvThr Watch: youtu.be/5VXSQQ5YDIU More info: thedivinecomedy.com/news/invisib... #TheDivineComedy #InvisibleThread #RainySundayAfternoon

The third track taken from our forthcoming album ‘Rainy Sunday Afternoon’ is the bittersweet paean to parenthood, ‘Invisible Thread’. The links to listen to the track and watch the video are in our post.
“It’s about that pang of worry when they board the bus for a camping trip,” Neil says. “The heart tug when they go on their first date. It’s not as simple as ‘the ties that bind’. They are a part of you.” Guest vocals on the track come from Neil’s daughter Willow.
The stunning video that accompanies ‘Invisible Thread’ is directed by Wolf James and stars Ardal O’Hanlon.
Debbie, who is also known as Wolf James, says: “Neil is such a beautiful writer and artist and it’s been a joy to work with him. There’s a sense of loss and grief under those sunny lyrics and when I spoke to Neil about his inspiration - parenthood, ageing, letting go - the idea of the tailor of time emerged. A man trapped by his work but freed by the creativity he feels in the presence of his daughter. Ardal was the perfect choice for the role; himself a father, also at the cusp of change in the relationship.”
Neil adds “Debbie and her tremendous cast and crew have made a magical video. And my old friend Ardal O’Hanlon is the heart and soul of the piece. The very essence of careworn fatherhood.”
A quick reminder that ‘Rainy Sunday Afternoon’ is available to pre-order now. The above text and album pre-order link can be found on our website. There is a link to our website in our post.

ONLINE SAFETY: TICKET SCAMS & IMPERSONATION. Read in full with links: thedivinecomedy.com/news/online-... 🖋️ Text in alt. #TheDivineComedy #NeilHannon

The image shows an open laptop and the text reads: Ticket scams and impersonation accounts on social media.
Unfortunately ticket scams and impersonation accounts are widespread on social media with fraudsters targeting people in the public eye. We don't want to see anyone being deceived or lose money as these schemes become more sophisticated.
Please always buy tickets from the official retailers and avoid tickets that are offered for sale privately as these may be scams. Do check venue box offices even for sold out shows as some venues accept returns.
Alternatively if you are looking to buy or sell tickets, the safest secure site is Twickets where prices are capped at face value. Ticketmaster and See Tickets also offer reselling services.
Once we get close to the start of the tour, small numbers of tickets should become available as venues release their production hold seats. These will usually be sold via the venue box office.
In addition to ticketing scams, there have been a number of profiles pretending to be The Divine Comedy or Neil Hannon. We report these accounts, but sometimes it can be like a game of whack-a-mole!
Please be advised that Neil is NOT on social media and never will be, so any post comments or direct messages purporting to be from Neil will be fake. The only official Neil Hannon account at present is on Bluesky and maintained by DCHQ who manage all of the band's social media accounts.
Please see our website for a handy list of official profiles on the socials: Link is in the post.
