Because I write up to 7/8 songs alongside each other, they become connected in my mind. But once they're finished, that connection is forgotten. I'm focused on new songs. Sorry; bit self-indulgent #GoMadThursday

Really enjoying my music at the moment Might be my new medication kicking in, or I might just be reaching "that" stage with a bunch of my songs. Y'know, the stage where you see what it's going to be and just... move towards it.

A car passed me on my cycle to work today and I saw stickers with "bass" and "junkie" on them. Reminded me of this. Fuckin reight good. BIG! DIRTY STINKIN BASS! DIRTY STINKIN BASS! youtu.be/D1gl46hh3sQ?...

The name's Dig Xaz. I do hip-hop. I'm mostly influenced by the 90s east coast sound, but thanks to that I like all kinds of music. I like making beats with me mate, Neil Cake. He lets me rap over loo

Turns out I'd forgotten to send my recent track "Easy Mode" to the distributor. It's received a bit of love on Soundcloud. You'll be able to listen to it everywhere except Spotify (cos they're cunts, let's say) from 7 October.

One of my favourite ways to sing now is, if a line ends on an 'n' or an 'm' sounds, i keep the preceding vowel sound short and extend and add vibrato the the n or m... "thank you lord, thank you for cumminnnnn" Not for the spice 'cumin'... that would be weird

AI musicians: you're killing our planet just so that Suno can say, "this is what your ideas would sound like if you were any good."

I really love that Warren Zevon song, "Keep Me in Your Heart for a While," but it annoys me how he sings, "sha-la-la..." Make the verse shorter, write a couple more lines, repeat a couple of lines, anything other than that!

I think all this fuss over AI music is helping me lean into sounding ever more human... I don't seem to mind as much sloppy play in my recent recordings. It's just starting to sound more... spontaneous. Mind you, a lot of elements of my recordings are fairly spontaneous.

I can't help it. I keep getting drawn into Facebook debates about AI music. And I seem to have the trump arguments. Which can only be more dangerous.

When AI lists things it can do "if you want", why are none of the things links?

Stupid depression medicine. I meant to say, when a James Brown groove inspires you and you write your own groove, you PAY HOMAGE to James Brown, and he salutes you. The bit about Suno and shitting on James Brown still stands.

... James Brown fucking salutes you. When you ask Suno to suggest a James Brown groove for you... you shit on all the great work James Brown did. Shame on you.

130

People that try to justify AI music like to state that human musicians are borrowing from all that came before, so what's the difference? Well, I'll tell you. When you hear a James Brown groove, and think, "that gives me an idea", and you write an awesome groove of your own. 1/2
