Sometimes, you get a funny idea and realize you can just... DO stuff.
A photograph of the adult male Snow Rabbit from Sylvanian Family/Calico Critters with his exposed back facing the camera. He is looking over his left shoulder. On his back is an ominous red 天 (ten) Kanji on his back; evoking the famous pose of Akuma/Gouki from Street Fighter after performing his Shun Goku Satsu move.

Looking through my phone and I stumbled upon perhaps the silliest shitpost of a drawing I ever did for a discussion about Archie Sonic Echidna Lore. Feel free to use it when discussing anything about Pender-Echidnas. #Knuckles #ArchieSonic
A parody version of the famous Ancient Aliens Guy meme, but with Giorgio Tsoukalos and his study are replaced by Knuckles doing the same pose in front of the Master Emerald chamber from Sonic and Knuckle's Hidden Palace Zone.

If you see this, post a witch!
An amber haired goblin witch riding a skull-helmeted, two legged dinosaurus monster. She is wearing a black leotard with a smiling sun on her pregnant tummy, over which, she wearing a purple cloak with a crescent moon pattern on the back, clasped with a crescent moon pendant . Her big purple witch hat has an eyeball on the band. Her legs are covered with purple and black stripped leggings and simple brown boots. She is smiling while sparkling magic flies from her finger tips.

In a very silly waste of my time, I've discovered that the only Pokémon that is naturally native only to the Kanto region is Cubone. The only *completely* native Pokémon is Porygon, but it's artificially created. I have other findings, too (19-21 Gen 1 evolutionary lines aren't Kanto native, btw)

Slight redesign of Patchuli. I realize that her previous huge tracks of land don't quite make sense for what I've written so far. I guess we'll split the difference and say the other design is her "Milf" design.
Illustration of a female little person. She has greyish-black hair and slight tarnish brown skin. She's wearing a blue minidress, black running shoes, green lipstick, and deep red nail polish. She's smiling slyly with a hand on her hip.

It's often magical when sudden epiphanies happen. Like how I was standing around in my kitchen with my dick out waiting for clothes to dry when I realized that knives are a sub-weapon in Castlevania because a Bowie Knife and Kukri are what killed Dracula in the original novel.

Incidentally, drawing her nude on my first drawing tablet was how I eventually started actually drawing nude/lewd art for a while. It's only fair that she be the first explicitly naked person I post on her (The medusa and nymph don't really count).
Black and white drawing of a nude woman with long hair and glasses standing with her arms behind her back.

A long time ago, I made a few webcomics on the 3DS apps Swapnote/Swapdoodle. My main one was called "Helvetica Harlot", which was about a pretentious art snob called Helvetica. I miss doing them, but the bulk of them have been lost to time.

Ryoko Wilson (Age 23) Ryoma's little sister. Incredibly quiet & aloof, she's secretly a massive otaku and a gossip. Is quite aware of her figure and the attention it draws. Surprisingly, she has no clue that Coco is in love with her and views her attempts at wooing as her simply being affectionate.
Young woman with a petit upper body and very large hips and thighs. She has light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and long, curly brown hair, with a single long lock dyed light blue. She is wearing a purple knitted cap, red lipstick, a red scarf, a charcoal grey tube top, and a large red sash over her blue jeans. She has her hands on her wide hips and looks very aloof.

Patchuli Davis (Age 33) Coco's older sister, runs a corner store called Davis Market that the cast frequents. Both kind & seductive, many people come to her with their problems. Supports Coco's pursuit of Ryoko, but says she'll steal Ryoma if Coco breaks his heart. No-one knows if she's serious.
A near full-body image of a short, curvaceous woman. She has pale-tan skin, dark grey hair, and brown eyes. She is wearing eyeshadow and green lipstick. She is smiling coyly with a soft, understanding look in her eyes. She is wearing a red sweater, blue tights, and black flats. Her arms are hidden behind her back.

Rumiko Inada (Age 29) Ryoma & Ryoko's cousin. Raised together with them when they were orphaned in childhood. Wild & rambunctious by nature, she's constantly getting everyone involved in weird plots. Has terrible luck with love & has a secret childhood pact with Ryoma neither discusses with anyone.
A petite woman winking a doing finger-guns towards the viewer and grinning a big toothy grin. She has pale tan skin. Her hair is done up in a side cut; the left half of her hair is buzzed short and dark brown, while the right is a frizzy, long, and dyed light purple. She is wearing a loose fitting black tank top, dark blue rolled jeans shorts, pink nail-polish, and three earrings in her left ear.

A tall woman from the waist up, with pale-tanned skin, long dark grey hair, and grey eyes. She is wearing a light-blue casual sleeveless dress and a purple sleeveless cardigan.

So, I've been working on a big sex dramedy for the last couple of years. I've essentially written a few short stories and plot synopses that I've lumped together under the title of "Shiitake". As of late, I realize I've accidentally created a visual novel's list of character routes for this.
Head shots of five characters:
Rumiko - a dark-skinned woman with a wide grin, and a dyed purple sidecut
Ryoma - a dark-skinned man, smiling, with brown curly hair and eyes
Coco - a tan-skinned woman, smiling, with long dark grey hair and blue eyes
Patchouli - a tan-skinned woman, smiling slyly, with short dark grey hair and blue eyes
Ryoko - a dark-skinned woman with a neutral expression, wearing a fuchsia skullcap over long curly brown hair with a lock of hair dyed blue

The wife and I came up with a new magical shojo show while watching an hour long transformation video. Ironically, I sketched this up in under a minute.
Title card containing the words "BATS IN THE BUST" in a stylized bat. The bat is wearing a bow and has a toothy smiley face. The 'B' in 'BUST' looks like a pair of breasts seen from above.A female figure with the name "Bloody Merimei" (pun on Blood Mary and 'Marry Me'). Her hair is put up in two buns to resemble bag ears, she has a cape in the shape of batwing, a high collar, and bolo tie. She is wearing red boots and fishnet stockings. Red gloves and fishnet sleeves. She is wearing a red bikini-style top in the shape of stylized bat, which connects to a white miniskirt. She is posing with the back of her left hand facing the viewer.

Tried to replicated the gold glitter ink from Swapnote/SwapDoodle with little success. There were more comics: namely, the reveal that Peepers had told Echo to hide (and the knight's fixation on her butt), Kyl'r wasting the gel, but it turning into magical clothes, and him burning down a forest.
Panel 1: Remy, brightly - "Welcome to Magasin 'd BagueFées! How can I help you today?"

Panel 2: Forest Knight - Urr... Yes. Mayhaps you have an item for combatting humanoid monsters?

Panel 3: A metal bucket filled with a mysterious golden gel under a spotlight. On the bucket is a rainbow coloured water drop symbol marked with the letter A and an infinity symbol.
Remy, off-panel - "Well, we have a very customizable bucket of elemental gel. Coat a weapon in it and you'll automatically hit their weakness."
Remy, off panel, quietly - "Mana willing, of course."

Panel 4: Kly'r appears, holding a gun.
Kly'r, shouting - "HOLD IT! Your money or Your lives!"

Panel 5: Forest Knight glaring angrilyPanel 1: Forest King, clenching his fist and throwing back his cape to reveal his armour, crest, and sword; eyes glowing with anger.
Forest Knight, enraged - "A threat? DID YOU DARE THREATEN ME, KNAVE?"

Panel 2: Kyl'r, comedically sweating, holding up a finger to give pause.
Kyl'r, shakily - "Well... you see..."

Panel 3: Forest Knight grabs Kyl'r's head; his hand nearly covering the whole of it. Kyl'r begins sweating even more,; his finger curling down.Panel 1: Forest Knight angrily punts Kyl'r with all his might.

Panel 2: Kyl'r whizzes away into the sky, his gun, grey bodysuit, and brown scarf tumbling down.

Panel 3: Forest Knight, looking up, very satisfied - "Justice... is served"Panel 1: Kyl'r hits the ground headfirst, skidding hard enough to leave a ditch in the dirt.

Panel 2: Kyl'r lays head down in the mound of dirt he pushed forward, sizzling from the impact.

Panel 3: Kyl'r miraculously pulls out the bucket of elemental gel from Remy's shop.
Kyl'r - " A good thief ALWAYS makes a steal"

Panel 4: Kyl'r has yet to get up from where he's laying, setting the bucket down.
Kyl'r, weakly - "Even if it nearly kills them"

Forest Knight (who I don't think I ever named in the original Swapnote/Swapdoodle comics) was a comedic antagonist/love interest for Echo. Think Zenigata, but he also really really likes Lupin's butt.
Panel 1: Forest Knight - "FINALLY! After weeks of tracking, I've finally found the strange she-clops who entered my lands!"
Panel 2: Echo is washing laundry as the Forest Knight watches her from behind a tree.
Panel 3: Echo - "Whoops"
Echo bends over. The Forest Knight as shocked to see her rear end
Panel 4: Forest Knight, blushing and obviously flustered - "P...Perhaps I should... Observe... the she-clops more before I make my move..."Panel 1: Elven Page, holding the Forest Knight's helmet on a pillow - "Are you certain this is a situation that requires your questing gear milord?"

Panel 2: Forest Knight, in a new suit of armour with a blue cape - "I swear on my father's bloodline that I will get to the buttocks of this cyclops predicament"
Panel 3: Forest Knight, grimly as he glows with intense determination - "A good lord must be prepared to defend his people at all costs."
Panel 4: Elven Page - "'Buttocks'?"
Forest Knight, looking away - "Bottom. I meant bottom."Panel 1 - Forest Knight, peering through foliage, stumbles upon a shop sitting on the short of lake.
Panel 2 - Forest Knight, with Creepy Peepers floating silently behind him: "Well now. How very advantageous for a shop to suddenly be..."
Panel 3 - Forest Knight, quickly looking behind himself: "HERE!"
Creepy Peepers is not there.
Panel 4 - Forest Knight, off panel: "Hmm... Must be my nerves"
Creepy Peppers is revealed to have turned itself invisible, smirking to itself

The comic was called "Remy and Echo", and followed the misadventures of the two titular characters and their friends. The two run a traveling shop. The little monster Creepy Peepers was essentially the mascot of the comic, though I typically liked drawing Echo.
First Panel - Echo is squinting her eye.
Second Panel - Textbox reads "Even though Echo is a cyclops, she is employed by Remy as her scout and lookout on her travels." above a close-up of her large eye.
Third Panel - A large, yellow-beaked octopus monster with red eyes and slim covered tentacles reaching towards the reader
Fourth Panel - Echo: "Well, it hasn't changed in size, so it's either big or it's following us." Echo is seated on the back of a carriage, looking at the monster. The monster is indeed large, but is also inches away from Echo; implying that it is, in fact, following them. The top panel: Remy is happiliy playing with three slime monsters. One is wrapped around her arm, one sits atop her head, and she is playfully squeezing another.
The bottom panel: Echo is eating a bowl full of jelly; suspiciously the same colour as Remy's slime monsters. She looks incredibly happy.Panel 1: Remy, reading a Monster Manual: "How can I sell this thing if its not even in any Monster Manual?"
Panel 2: Echo, looking incredulous: "I don't think we COULD sell this thing. I mean..."
Panel 3: Echo, off-panel "Would YOU buy this thing?" Standing, waving its flippers and standing akimbo on their stick figure legs is the one tailed, two horned, three eyed monster 'Creepy Peepers', emitting weird green energy from its horns.Panel 1: Echo and Renex, standing together. Echo is holding laundry.
Renex: Thanks for helping me with the laundry.
Echo: No problem! Anything for a friend.
Panel 2: Echo is staring intensely, while smiling
Panel 3: Renex, confused, wearing only underwear.
Renex: W...What's up?
Panel 4: Renex is covering herself, very embarrassed, as Echo continues to stare at her, oblivious to why Renex is embarrassed.
Caption: Echo, like most cyclops, has no subtlety or tact when she sees something or someone she really, really likes
Renex: Hey! Quit staring, Echo!
Echo: Why? You're so pretty ♥

Anyone else miss Swapnote/SwapDoodle? I did a little comic on there for my friends ages ago. I actually re-did them at some point, trying to capture the limited colour/ink of the apps.
Four panels, each showcasing a character:

Remy - Half Elf; a young half elf woman with a purple earring
Echo - Cyclops; a young female cyclops with a single red stained horn making a peace sign with red-tipped claws
Renex - Ogress; a sad-looking ogress with green hair wearing a robe
Kly'r - ???; an armour clad figure with a blue gemstone on his forehead and a blue scarf

It's been forever. Since I'm abandoning The Dead Blue Bird site, I figure I may as well repost art from there here. And what better art that some ghost pictures I did for an "Aughost" challenge a few years back?
A scholarly ghost in front of an illustrated chart explaining "The ABCs of HAUNTING", which are:

Apparate (a ghost appears behind a person)
Boo (a ghost screams, scaring the person)
Chase (a ghost follows behind a fleeing person)An irritated ghost is arising from the mouth of a smiling dead man. In the ghost's hands is a lottery ticket. Sitting on a dresser in front of them is a television screen displaying "LottoBall Winning Numbers: 13, 4, 9, 23, 17" These are the exact same numbers on the lottery ticket. It is clear that the man died from over-excitement from having won the lottery and his ghost is quite irritated that this now means he can't actually get the money.A witch holds her hands up to a levitating, cursed sword. The sword has a skull with glowing red eyes on its pommel, and a large, bloodshot eye on its guard. Emerging from the sword's whole length is wispy green ectoplasm, holding the ghoulish faces of several red eyed ghosts.A figure wearing a bonnet and lace collar removes a pristine, sleepy face from its head; as if the face were simply a mask. Underneath is a skull with a pinpoint of red in each eye socket. Green ectoplasm clings to the back of the mask and the skull; suggesting that it is what held the face to the skull.

Cover Art If you haven't already noticed, I tend to be a little minimalist in my art, so my cover is as well. I've always kinda liked the simple box art of the Pulse-Line, Black Box, and Grid & Picture packaging of the 80s. Just a neat title, a color-by-genre border, a single picture, and a banner.
Re-issue or "Over __ Copies Sold in Japan" banners were always neat. Just a little extra oomph without overly interfering with the rest of the packaging.

Death Death comes hard and fast in this game. Here, a Rogue has accidentally used a Monster Bell scroll, which wakes up all monsters on a floor and makes them hunt you down. A nearby Ice Maiden has frozen him to death while he dealt with a Rattlesnake sapping his strength. Better luck next time.
Yes; he did just finally gold plate his armor to protect it from an Aquator. So it goes in the Dungeons of Doom.

Zombie Our last monster is an odd one. Thankfully, the Zombies of the Dungeon don't actually have adverse effects along with their bites. Going off the original premise of your hunt for the Amulet being a guild test, I can only assume that they are the remains of your fellow rogues...
I like mushy, squish zombies. Partially because they have a more Halloween aesthetic, and mainly because I'd be wracking my brain trying to make them look more realistically shredded and rotting if I didn't.

Yeti What's the Abominable Snowman doing in the dank Dungeon of Doom? Delivering pain, that's what. Comparable to the Centaur in power, the Yeti is a bonafide game ender for rookies. You'd think something so big wouldn't be able to catch up to you so quickly. Hope you've got long-distance weapons!
Yeah, yeah; it looks like a more buff Wampa and not a palatte swap of a Bigfoot, but Wampa are obviously Yetis.

Xeroc So, among the Rogue's many skills is the ability to throw any of his items across the room. This comes in handy in the lower levels when you need to snipe monsters... and items. The Xeroc is the mimic of the Dungeon and an absolute menace when trying to stock up on new items in the pate game.
Mimics didn't always use to just be treasure chests with teeth. I like the idea of the hidden part of the mimic being its only distinguishing characteristic. Does it change into the item or does it infest it?

Wraith The. Most. Terrifying. Monster. Much like the Vampire, the Wraith takes something from you when it touches you. Your Level. Your XP is a hard-fought resource by late game when you're doing more dodging than fighting, so losing a whole level per touch is the true stuff of nightmares.
I feel that the simplest things are the ones that inspire the most dread. A big, mulit-fanged hunchbacked super zombie is scary on paper, but you can just FEEL the bottom drop out of your stomach when you turn the corner and there IT is. A simple shroud that wastes life away in a single touch. It's in no hurry. You will stumble, and it will envelope you in its chilling embrace.

Vampire The poster child of "Fairness is for chumps" that permeated cRPGs and TTRPGs at the time. Vampires PERMANENTLY drain HP when they attack. Even leveling up doesn't recover it. As an extra kick in the ass, that ill-gotten HP is added to the vampire's. But even this isn't the top terrifier.
Dapper suits? Slicked hair? That's a Dracula, friend. THIS is a vampire; a stalking, undead creature of the dank and dusty tombs where many meet their end on its festering fangs.

Ur-vile The king of "What monster begins with _?", The Ur-Vile is actually a monster from the fantasy book series "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant". They're the secret hardest monster in the Dungeon; having the second highest damage output and the lowest AC. I'd've gone with Unicorn, myself.
Just read the series. As far as I can tell, they're jet black goblin men with no eyes and giant nostrils. I know that a TON of old D&D/D&D adjacent stuff had these direct references, but you could get into copyright trouble over this one, I feel.

Troll One of the heavy-hitters of the Dungeon, Trolls mostly retains its terrifying ability from D&D: regeneration. I say "mostly" because they thankfully lost their whole "can only be hurt by fire" thing. Nevertheless, The only way to win is to hit harder than they can regen their massive HP.
If I'm the first person to give an actual troll the Troll-face, I want everyone to know that this should have happened ages ago.

Snake Chances are staggeringly high that the very first "monster" to greet the Rogue will be the humble Snake. Much like the Bat, Snakes seem more like regular animals that just so happen to live in the Dungeon. It almost feels a little mean grinding through these guys for EXP early on.
Most of the time, snakes are drawn like evil, cackling villains. Most actual snake look like doofuses.

Rattlesnake There is not a monster more hated in Rogue than the dreaded Rattlesnake. Unlike the unfairly treated rattlers of real life, these creatures take genuine glee in chasing and envenoming you on sight. Which reduces you Strength by 1 nearly each time they hit. The true early game enders.
I don't entirely like making them look so villainous, but these bastards will ruin your delve in an instant.

Quagga A quagga is an extinct animal; a subspecies of zebra, to be exact. But I'm taking some artistic liberties with this one. Doesn't make much sense for what amounted to a lazier zebra being this powerful and aggressive, so they're Quaggamen now. A ferocious damage sponge to boot, so keep calm.
Yes, they were more brown than zebras IRL. When conceiving them as "reverse centaurs" I realized that getting punched with a hoof would be pretty horrible.

Phantom Sure Dragons, Griffins, and the like are terrifying monsters to behold, but what about monsters you can't behold at all? Perhaps the most nerve-wracking monster in the Dungeon, Phantoms are completely invisible. Only two rare items let you see them, so pray that you find them.
I did seriously contemplate just doing an translucent outline, but that might clash with a latter monster design. Spooky pink and a mouth-behind-a-sheet works fine.

Orc I'm partial to pOrc, myself. Bad jokes aside, these piggy pests are the first real tests of skill in the Dungeon. Up until you meet them, your hardest adversary would be Hobgoblins. But these guys mean business... so long as there's no gold in the room. If there is, they'll dive for it first.
Some people say that pig men reduce the actual sheer boars actually possess when they charge you. But I feel like seeing one stand up and call you out directly, or pull your weapon straight out of your hand is even worse.

Nymph Another of the "non-lethal" monsters; Nymphs are content to snooze away until bumped into. Once woken, they want one thing and on thing only: one of your magic items. And much like the Leprechauns, they vanish into thin-air once they get it. So respect these sleepy gals and leave them alone.
Tasteful old fashioned nudity, with a mix of coral colors. Naked lady is hard to innovate on when it comes to spirits.

Medusa Not your ordinary sympathetic Gorgon. These Medusi have traded their classical petrification powers for something far more sinister: Confusion! While not seemingly a big deal, the inability to choose what direction you're going in the late game trying to dodge monsters is very terrifying.
She's laughing because I figure they have more fun watching you stumble into the jaws of a dragon than turning you into a statue. Also, you don't see the classic big tongue, tusks, and wings Medusa anymore.

Leprechaun One of the strange "non-hostile" monsters. He's after YOUR gold and will literally vanish into thin air upon touching you. Just 1 HP of damage and you're out tons of money. You can't even touch him back unless you find a way to incapacitate him long enough to do so.
I didn't want to go with the super stereotypical "Lucky Charms"/St. Patrick's Day design, but I borrowed from the more standard "wee folk" design.

Kestrel The last of the "beginners" monsters and a proud member of the "What Monster Starts with the Letter _ ?" Club. Like it's flightless cousin, having a bird stalk the beginning floors of the Dungeon seems out of place to our current dungeon-ecology sensibilities, but it provides exotic flare.
Like some of the other "just an animal" monsters, I had no idea what a kestrel was when I first played Rogue. And even after finding out it's a bird, I didn't realize that they were so small compared to other falcons.

Ice Monster Perhaps the TRUE most powerful monster in the game, Ice Monsters are typically asleep and don't bother you if you don't wake them. But if you DO, they can freeze you with a touch, which gives an automatic game over. Another lesson in "You don't have to kill everything in sight".
Fun fact, when I first played Rogue, my version called them 'Ice Maidens', but early graphical versions depict them as icicles with angry faces. So I found a happy middle ground.

Hobgoblin These guys are very much the last of the "beginners" monsters. Harder hitting that bats and emus, but definitely not heavy sluggers if you've actually leveled up a bit. They're also the last of the monsters that you can grind without too much worry.
I know that Rogue is definitely D&D-inspired, so it's probably suppose to look more like the furry red hobgobs, but I went with my standard goblin design with this guy.

Griffin A majestic murder-beast; a combo of the kings of the jungle and the sky. Statwise, it earns it's rep, as it's technically the most powerful monster in the game. This bad boy can fly, can regenerate, is obsessed with ending you on sight, alongside some of the highest HP and most damage dealt.
I had a time trying to figure out if the feathers and fur should clash or not.

Flytrap True buzzkills, these freaky flowers don't hurt you. They merely hold you in their sticky grasp. This is a death sentence on lower levels, where getting caught means getting beaten to a pulp by hoards of monsters. I'm sure that once you're dead, the Flytrap eats the well tenderized remains.
I combined a few carnivorous plants for this guy. It's namesake takes up most of the body, but I also gave it sundew arms, and the same garish colours of some pitcher plants. Those two dots in the middle are it's eyespots.

Emu The first of the "What Monster Starts with the Letter _?" monsters. What's a herbivorous diaural ratite doing hanging out in a dank Dungeon? Maybe they're farmed for food by the humanoid monsters? Or maybe The Dungeon Lord thought it would be funny.
Emu far more abundant feathers going all the way up to their head, unlike ostriches. It's almost kind of weird that people mistake the two. They also have red eyes; which seems scary at first, but really suits them.

Dragon Understand that you're in for a bad time when The King of Monsters rears its behorned head. Even at the nice compact size needed to fit into the Dungeon, his menace is legendary. You'd think they'd be THE most powerful monsters, but there are other contenders equal in menace to dragons.
Not too grand, but not too squat. Literally all the monsters can chase you through doors, so I imagine the dragons in the Dungeon of Doom aren't particularly massive.
