Abstrora is a free macOS screen saver. Color fields that drift while the display rests. negativespace.works/abstrora/

Thanks for trying 27.2. I was hoping it would be fixed in 27 after seeing it on 26, but it isn’t. That’s the same thing I see: Options won’t open at all. It helps to know it’s not just my Mac. Thank you!

I’ve been working on this since last year’s macOS, and this Options problem has been with me the whole time.

Thanks for trying those steps. It looks fine on your Mac. Since you’re on macOS 15, the OS version might be the cause. I’ll look into it. Thank you!

Thanks for trying it. That’s what I meant in my last post. There’s an open issue on Cowsaver where Options opens the first time, then doesn’t open again until System Settings is quit. Still not fixed: github.com/matthewsundl... I think this happens with any third-party screensaver.

Thank you. Fits on a Floppy is on this Mac now. The disks feel familiar, and the flying Moai is my favorite part. The Options button still doesn’t open the settings, though. Same problem every screensaver author seems to hit.

Abstrora ships with six Profiles. Abstract Motion is the default: diagonal lines, twelve muted colors, a slow hue drift. The others are interpretations, not copies. Classic Composition, Minimal Drift, Great Wave, Nighthawks, Color Field. negativespace.works/abstrora/

Abstrora started from a screen saver that no longer runs. Abstract Motion (2001) drew Mondrian-like color fields, PowerPC only. Abstrora rebuilds that as a native .saver for Apple Silicon and Intel. Free, macOS 12 or later. negativespace.works/abstrora/
