Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is genuinely delightful! love it’s unique gameplay (puzzle platformer collectathon where the collectable is info, so cool!) and it’s beautifully presented, while the opening cutscenes are a little stiff, the actual game is animated gorgeously and has a great art style!

no Mario Kart, no Splatoon, no Kirby Air Riders, it’s heartbreaking to sacrifice these multiplayer games but i prioritize and prefer single player games so idk, Smash Ultimate is there to represent multiplayer Nintendo lol

this was hard, no mainline Pokémon or Animal Crossing (i’m representing both with Pokopia, but i’d love to get Animal Crossing (GCN) and Pokémon Violet on here), no 2D or traditional 3D Mario (would love to get Wonder, Yoshi’s Island, Odyssey, Galaxy), deciding between BotW and TotK was hard af

if it dies it may not come back, the only record it’s currently breaking is the one for longest gap between episodes not caused by cancellation, if after Christmas they choose to rest the program, that might be it folks, we might not see it again for awhile or ever! just be careful what you wish for

000 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

so before you hope for the quick death of your favorite show because it hasnt been good enough lately (and i agree, it hasnt been good enough) consider this: do you want it dead? or do you want it here? those are the options, if it being here means it being bad i’d rather that than it be dead

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

worse than that, series beyond Christmas 2026 are even more up in the air with no firm plans being established, who’d run it? who’s the Doctor going to be? who’s funding it and where’s it gonna go internationally with Disney out of the picture? there are zero answers to these questions

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

i say all this to remind folks of the extremely precarious position the show is in and warn against folks crying out for a hiatus, we’re in the hiatus right now! a Christmas special this year is not a guarantee, it was announced, sure, but who knows what’s happening with it

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

the gap between “The Reality War” and the upcoming Christmas special (which as of yet has not entered production as far as i’m aware) is the longest gap in Doctor Who history not caused by the show’s cancellation, it’s longer than the Colin Baker gap, and it is the longest New Who gap

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

every other New Who gap has been about a year off, a Christmas or New Year special followed by another, with the gap between the Chibnall era and RTD2 being about a month longer than a year

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

to be clear, this is not just the longest gap since the show returned in 2005, its the longest gap EVER, other than the gaps between the cancellation of Classic Who and the TV Movie, and the TV Movie and New Who the second longest gap (not due to cancellation) was that 18 month hiatus in the 80s

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

the longest gaps are of course around the TV Movie, the longest gap other than that was during the tumultuous era in the 80s with an 18 month hiatus the last episode of Doctor Who to air was on May 31st 2025 and the next episode is (hopefully) going to air December 25th 2026, a gap of 573 days

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

526 days between the last episode of “Revelation of the Daleks” and the first episode of “The Trial of a Time Lord” 2,364 days between the last episode of “Survival” and the TV Movie 3,225 days between the TV Movie and “Rose”

100 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 28/04/2026

here are the longest gaps between Doctor Who episodes airing: 365 days between “Resolution” and “Spyfall Part One” 366 days between “The Husbands of River Song” and “The Return of Doctor Mysterio” 397 days between “The Power of the Doctor” and “The Star Beast”

some would call all of the stuff like what i’m describing gimmicks, but i think it’s more than that! i think these features genuinely improve the gameplay experience!

020 0

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 08/02/2026

both of these features in both of these games suck me right in and make me feel like i’m there, while also helping with my skill level, the Returnal controller stuff makes me react faster to threats and the 3D in Zelda helps me gauge depth! games are so cool and i love experimental stuff like that!

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 08/02/2026

i went from playing Returnal (a game with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers) to Zelda A Link Between Worlds (a 3DS game with the 3D on full blast) and it got me thinking about all the cool ways game devs have made games more immersive over the years

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 08/02/2026

Returnal is another game i’ve only gotten to the first boss of, and i havent even beaten that one yet! that said, i’m still actively playing this whereas i fell off Cult of the Lamb, anyway, im loving what im playing, dark and scary and exciting and thematically interesting and funnn

Nebula 🪐 @nebulazenithstorm.bsky.social · 08/02/2026

Cult of the Lamb is a game i just need to play more of, love what i’ve played but that was only thru the first boss TBoIR is nostalgic! my first roguelike was the original and this remake is sooooo good, i think future roguelikes top it, but its still a great game

Tetris is my favorite falling block puzzle series because well, it’s Tetris, it’s perfect!

Pokémon Puzzle League is a fantastic version of Puzzle League and has tons of Pokémon anime nostalgic vibes, Puzzle League in general i love for its mechanics, it’s simple on the surface and yet so deep, combos are fun to get! and this is my favorite because Pokémon
