Years ago I was in the audience for a lecture. The speaker was applying for a post at the university. After speaking for an hour & getting to question time one of the professors raised his hand and said “my only question is… so what?”

Most of my ideas for how to use a personal ai assistant are related to apps or websites that I use administratively with relative low frequency (what are your favourite use cases?)

not joking: I was coming out of BJJ training and chatting to some guys about the x-guard sweep we were working on and one of them turns to me and asks “so what’s this about AI killing all of us then?”

I don’t remember where I saw this but it stuck with me. Imagine you’re working in a co where 15 people each have an avg of 2 “big” issues per YEAR that they take to their manager. That translates to the manager handling 2.5 issues per month

Watching a popular coding tool lose frontier model access really shows why model resiliency matters. In the future, products will continue to work perfectly even if several underlying models go offline. They’ll just route around them.

A platform co published about their voice AI copilot today. I first read it as [voice AI] [copilot]. A copilot that talks to you 🤔 Turns out they meant a [voice] [AI copilot]. A copilot for when you talk on the phone 🤦‍♂️

Work loudly
In an office, some of your visibility is free. Go remote and it drops to zero. Working loudly makes your impact visible as you do it—not after the fact in a status update nobody reads.

Didn’t keep the podcast where I heard a founder say this, but it stuck with me- his most impactful unlock in outcomes came from reframing his mindset to enjoy solving the biggest problem he was facing. A great twist on what optimism actually is

The sharpest form of founder-market fit is having been the buyer. Gradient Labs’ founders ran customer operations and financial crime at Monzo, and now sell AI into that exact seat.
Gradient Labs raised a $13M Series A extension, doubling its Series A to $26M. Its three founders built Monzo’s data, machine-learning and financial-crime systems.
