new release for http-nu :: v0.17.0 :: the embedded cross.stream store jumps to 0.13.2 (new unified `xs.<kind>.<name>.<event>` lifecycle topics, data-safe but a breaking change for `--services`), Datastar updated to 1.0.2, and Nushell to 0.113.1 :: github.com/cablehead/ht...

I've finally got around to documenting the `cross-stream` crate. It's a standalone cli / binary, but you can also embed it into your projects; docs.rs/cross-stream... (it's built on @fjallrs.bsky.social !)

bit of an easter egg.. the ux is still a bit rough, you can give an LLM the stacks2099/README.md and then the url of the instance it's running in, and ask it, "embed the site we are working on, in our current stack"

Hey, thank you! This is a diagram of how the current version hangs together; so I'm using wezterm-term as a crate. Each terminal instance gets its own wezterm_term::Terminal

Andy Gayton @ndyg.ca · 28/05/2026
i had an epiphany: given we need a high-quality terminal running on the server, why do we need a real terminal running in the browser, too? can we just broadcast the server's screen state as html? and yes, you can. so this is now running nushell + datastar + http-nu + wezterm, and no ghostty-wasm

experimenting with "mux"-ing ghostty-web in a browser. each pane connects to a real nushell pty on the server, that's preserved between refreshes / reconnects

this is just a quick sketch, could likely do better, but by implementing these 4 endpoints, you can provide the backend to a web embedded ghostty terminal in the language of your choice

Something I think about a lot, with the copyright smash and grab by the big AI labs is, Aaron Swartz faced up to 35 years in prison for downloading academic articles from JSTOR via MIT's network in 2011, before committing suicide.

Alison's mum & dad were in town for holidays. with the extra help I got a chance to work a bunch on `http-nu`. it's kinda rowdy, it now has, HTTP/2 support, this lispy, shouty-case HTML DSL, a pretty capable builtin router module .. and the one I'm most interested in, a baked in Datastar SDK
