Deer killed & 2 more calves orphaned on the hills today by the Quantock Staghounds. A local described the scenes as "deer hell". Yesterday a starving calf was found close to death. Although they can survive without mum's milk and warmth at this age, it will be a struggle through winter

Police were called at Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt today in Bagber after meet host Sophie Tuffin repeatedly smashed her phone into a sab's face claiming she wasn't on a footpath, then knocked her down and trampled her with her horse. With @dorsethuntmonitor.bsky.social

🚨 EMERGENCY ALERT 🚨 Government issued emergency alerts have just rang out across Dorset, warning of a risk to life in the storms tomorrow. Surely hunts won’t be out tomorrow now? All eyes on the BHSA to stand up and demand hunts stay home.

Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt hound control was atrocious today, dogs everywhere. Some were still missing at the end of the day. A couple were reportedly seen crossing the A30 several miles away from where they were boxing up at Stalbridge Park.

Towards the end of the day hounds were set on this fine young spring stag, which they thankfully wouldn't have a hope in hell of catching, but just enjoyed terrorising him I guess. Great working with @mendiphuntsabs.bsky.social, @wlguardian.bsky.social and local residents to keep a lid on them

Hinds and their calves were terrorised again today by the Quantock Staghounds. But what they were really after was a stag. With a good number of sabs and monitors watching them, they did a poor job of hunting both and were hopefully deterred from taking potshots at fleeing hinds.

A fox killed yesterday by the South Dorset Hunt had their back leg ripped off as hounds dragged them out of thick brambles. Solidarity to Weymouth Animal Rights who saw the horrific scene. More on their Facebook page www.facebook.com/WeymouthAnim...

Currently sabbing the Portman Hunt near Bedchester in storm Bert. The Portman and many others in Dorset think this is appropriate weather to hunt in!

Sabs were pushed and ridden at as we covered the fox's scent and called off hounds. We were rewarded when the huntsman gave up and moved on.

*Sound on* How blatant is this - Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt whip (no horse today?) hollering up the hunted fox that had just crossed the road. The huntsman then brought the hounds over to try and pick up the scent on the other side. Sabs ensured hounds failed to find it.

Pearson supported the badger cull that began in North Dorset in 2014. Several setts were targeted on his land. As of 2024 over 210,000 badgers have been culled at a cost of £58.8 million. bTB compensation paid to farmers costs the taxpayer around £150 million per annum.

We heard the shot while another deer was being chased, and later saw her body being driven away. Andy Fish came over to a sab gloating and pointing out the blood on his quad, which he then stuck his finger in. Andy is being investigated by police for driving his quad at a stag last month.

The Quantock Staghounds have been out today setting their dogs on hinds (female red deer) and their 5 month old calves. Sadly one calf will be without a mum now as they killed her when she got too close to a gunman lying in wait on a deer run. w/ @wlguardian.bsky.social

One of a number of foxes we helped escape the Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt today at Yenston. Sabs were able to stop the 2 lead hounds, before the whipper in, seeing that we had the fox on film, stopped the rest! We love it when they sab themselves! With @dorsethuntmonitor.bsky.social

We have been told that the BSV have a Community Protection Warning in place following the killing of the Pelsham Farm Fox in December. Without doubt Avon and Somerset Police must at the very least escalate this to a full Community Protection Notice with far stricter conditions.

Video part 2 the fox is killed behind the fence. The kill happens out of sight but you can hear the unbearable noise. Terriermen then charge in grabbing body parts in front of the shocked resident. This could happen to ANYONE while the law allows packs of hounds to be let loose in the countryside!

"𝑺𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒑𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏" says Blackmore & Sparkford Vale Hunt Master Vicky Heal after the entire pack rampaged around in a frenzy killing a fox. This was the reality for the horrified residents of West Camel, Somerset on Monday. Video part 1 - the chase leading up to the kill.

2 hunts sabbed today - Portman Hunt blatantly cubbing in maize fields at Hinton St Mary, then up to the Quantocks for the Quantock Staghounds opening meet. 3 stags chased and we believe lost.
