Hey, it's been a while! A lot of stuff has happened lately (all good things!) & things are going well for Penelope & I. Also, I got new hair colors inspired by Pride & thought it looked cute.

Laura (a white woman with hazel eyes & shoulder length, multicolor hair with bangs) looks into the camera while lying in a hammock with Penelope (a female ginger cat with white paws & pink nose) sleeping behind them.

Can we let Penelope know that she's a good, brave girl for going to the vet today? 😽

Penelope (an orange & white tabby cat) is loafed inside her carrier, very nervous about her vet visit.

I finally finished this pet blanket for Penelope & it makes me so happy to know that she loves it! 🥰 I've learned the basics of crochet over the past...maybe couple of years (give or take). This is the first blanket for me & I think it came out okay. It was a good challenge for me!

Penelope (an orange & white tabby cat with pink paw pads/toe beans) is sleeping in a fluffy crocheted blanket (white with green & yellow speckles).

I've been working on Penelope's blanket for a while & as I was continuing with some more of it, I just watched her "make biscuits" on it before curling up like this. I think she likes it! ☺️

Have a cute picture of Penelope as a "Thank You" for any support that has been given throughout this rollercoaster of a year! 💚

So far, 33 has been alright. Especially if I get to snuggle with this little lovebug!

Right after that, I got to begin in-person work with the Theater For All Initiative with Queens Theater. This was my first experience with a creative project of ANY kind specifically for disabled performers & oh wow...where has this been in my life?

21 actors of various sizes, genders, & appearances stand in a semi circle for a group photo in a cabaret theater room. Some of the people included are wheelchair/power scooter users, some have mobility aids (crutches or walkers), some are blind/low vision (most using a white cane, one with a golden labrador guide dog), some are deaf/hard-of-hearing, some are neurodivergent, and one has Down Syndrome.

First of all, working with Sketch Of New York is always a great time for me (especially the alumni shows we get to write for!). The people I meet, the ideas that come to life, & even working with familiar friendly faces.

14 actors of various sizes, genders, & appearances pose on a black box theater stage for a group photo. All of them are wearing black clothing, with one laying on his side in the front also wearing a clown wig/nose/bowtie.

Entering tech week with the information about the show. I didn't write anything this time, but I have some potential future sketches inspired by what we've brainstormed.

Second, I have been accepted into this year's Theatre For All with Queens Theatre! That will be starting later this month with a performance on May 2nd.

First, I'm back with A Sketch of New York for another alumni cast show! We just started rehearsals & writing with performances on April 25th, 26th, & 27th (times will be announced as we get closer).

Regardless, we made it this far, might as well keep going. Happy New Year! 🥳

Penelope (now 2 years old) lays with her fluffy tummy exposed as Laura holds her fron right paw. She seems very content.

I have no idea what 2025 has in store (besides the results of the election...😬). It might be better, it might be worse. Maybe this will be the year we finally dismantle the oppressive powers & systems that kick the people while we're down! Hard to say.

A gray tabby kitten (about 4 or 5 months at the time?) with green eyes & a pink nose sits in Laura's lap while side-eyeing the camera. Laura has a black work belt on holding various makeup brushes.

The stage of "Twenty Sided Tavern" in NYC with many props, costume pieces, etc. on the shelves both sides of the stage set. There are also various light fixtures above of different shapes (potentially in reference to D&D lore). In the center, a slideshow has a chalk drawing of a mage reading a book with the word "INTELLIGENCE" appearing below them. The words "Your knowledge that a tomato is a fruit" can be seen above them.

all while having a limited number of spoons for each day. And yet...here I am! Still here. Still existing. Still surviving. Because not all of 2024 was bad. And those good moments & people in my life are some of what keeps me going. I'm also stubborn as hell sometimes.

A male black cat with yellow-green eyes & dark nose lays on the floor looking at the camera. He is looking rather silly.

Laura (crouched in the center), a white woman with brown hair wearing a black hat & mask, is in a photo with 5 Broadway cast members (including the songwriter, far left) of "How To Dance In Ohio" at a community event. Everyone is looking towards the camera with various happy expressions.

Between sitting with & working through the aftermath of a VERY messy & stressful year leading up to a surprisingly tame breakup, transitioning from unemployment into new work, constant &/or random tech issues, & navigating potential public assistance, & more...

Penelope (then almost 2 years old) looks towards the camera & lays next to a green & black defunct chainsaw in a sassy, but cool pose.

2024 has been...a lot. And that's basically why I've been pretty quiet on all platforms lately.

I wanted to make sure that if I purchased a kufiya in solidarity, it would be as authentic as possible. Luckily, there is a factory you can purchase them from handmade in Palestine! And they do different color palettes like this rainbow version.
