Article from notoriously poorly researched right wing rag, Courier Mail of QLD suggesting cleaning up the Brisbane River for swimming events in the upcoming Olympics. There are many Sharks and very strong currents in the river.

With Tepekong/Padangbai area hit up Gekko Divers. There’s also a jetty dive there where I’ve seen 7 or so different species/colour variants of Frog Fish in one dive. Villas are cheap and booze is plentiful also. Rant over. Ha.

Make sure you get a local guide and hit the dives around Tulamben. There’s about 10-15 sites with the smallest and rarest Nudis you’ve ever seen. I once heard about 3/4 of the Indo fish guide photo entries are from Tulamben, too.

Bali is insane for macro. Everything turns up there. Except Coleman’s Nudi. My nemesis. Tepekong is fun. Massive wall with vertical swell, bananas down currents and lots of big things. Walls are stacked with little things but you’re bouncing like crazy.

Of all my photos, this is easily my favourite I've ever taken. This amphipod is legitimately about 1mm in size. So small your eyes can't make out any details on it. They refuse to sit still. They run away from the light. It just looks like a grain of sand. Genuinely a 1 in a million shot.
