Failson at the controls? That type of plane (Quest Kodiak) is used mostly by commercial operators (10 pax capacity), so I'm thinking it's a charter operator? But some are privately owned by rich people.

I'm speculating, but I think their plan was to get airborne sooner and be able to easily climb over the Hawthorne. If so, they should have aborted instead. I've only seen planes take off and land south of the Ross Island bridge.

yeah idk what the current rules are for the Willamette, but I've seen planes take off and land a few times, generally south of the Ross Island. I was in a boat once and saw a plane take off to the south, starting its run N of the RI and taking off S of it. This was pre Tillicum Crossing.

This is one of those where the pilot fucked up, I assume the plan was to climb over the Hawthorne bridge, but then had the presence of mind to drop the nose and fly under the bridge, instead of stalling the plane. The pilot can hope the FAA takes this into account (they're boned).

As someone who's been through this process with a loved one, I can confirm. Especially for a non-physical disability. We were ultimately successful, I think possibly due to a random angel in the system smiling upon us. But it took easily a couple of years.

Apparently somebody set my local Papa Murphy's on fire recently, it's all closed and boarded up, but also Papa Murphy's is closing a bunch of locations permanently, so 🤷‍♀️ I really hope it reopens, it's been my goto long-day-at-work-don't-wanna-cook option for years.
