Today, we remember four young girls whose lives were taken in the bombing of Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church on September 15, 1963. We honor their memory and all those who fought, and continue to fight, for a future in which every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Juneteenth honors liberation, resilience, and progress. As we reflect on this history, we also recognize the work still ahead. Educational disparities are not inevitable—they are the result of choices, systems, and priorities. That means we have the power to change them!

As voters head to the polls in many states, it’s remember that educational disparities are the result of choices, systems, and priorities. We believe every child deserves learning environments designed for success, and building them begins with refusing to accept broken systems any longer.
