Earlier this month I collaborated with clothing brand SunSong of Scotland on a beautiful campaign inspired by the Scottish landscape, for which I wrote three poems in response: / rock / sand / skin /. Poems + photos below!

Beautiful words this morning on the @intocreative.bsky.social website on my poem “Does My Father Cry”. A careful and thoughtful reading of it. He writes on many other poems on the site too: www.intocreative.co.uk/nazaret-rane...

Really happy to see my name in The Telegraph this morning as one of this year’s Poetry Competition Highly Commended poets. Huge congratulations to the winner and the shortlisted poets 💛 This year’s theme was Mothers, which I explored in my poem The Phonetics of Love

As 2025 comes to an end, here are some highlights from my year. A year of learning, sharing poetry, and finding community. Being able to celebrate the wins of poets and friends I love, and to make space for each other in an industry with so little support and so much talent 🤍

Thanks to @poetrylondon.bsky.social for publishing my poem En la Meseta / On the Tableland in their Autumn Issue. It’s always such a treat to see the two versions appear side by side, letting readers experience the poem in both Spanish and English 💛💚

Had such a wonderful poetry-filled weekend ✨ My poem Nettles was The Scotsman’s poem of the Week on Saturday, followed by a magical visit to Little Sparta, Ian Hamilton Finlay’s ‘Garden Poem’, where I read alongside Janette Ayachi, Nasim Rebecca Asl and Chris Crawford to celebrate Ian’s centenary

'Dostoevsky's death mask at the Russian Museum of Málaga', by Nazaret Ranea, published in Issue Four of And Other Poems.
Full text of poem:

Dostoevsky's death mask at the Russian Museum of Málaga

Sunday, after four,
when the entry is free.

I look at this heavy head
on an even heavier pillow
and refuse to believe
that when you died
your eyes weren’t open.

No, Anna must have closed them.

Later that day Kramskoi came
to make a drawing.
Your half-smile, faint.
Your hair was still growing.

It’s Sunday afternoon,
but no one is here.
I just want to scream “Mine!”
and try to break the glass
only to run off crying.
