Remember that the FCC approval of foreign investment in WB/Paramount does not affect the lawsuit by the states and the WGA. Instead, this would give the lawsuit against the merger for it's harmful impacts tons of ammunition, as this essentially gives foreign actors leverage over the merged company.

@discussingfilm.net@discussingfilm.net

The FCC has approved foreign investors from the Middle East to own 49.5% in the merged WB/Paramount company. • The investors will not own voting stock so reportedly will have no influence on decisions • Approval also has been given to permit up to 100% indirect foreign equity interest in Paramount

Of course the FCC approved the foreign funds. But on the other hand, this gives the state coalition and the WGA TONS of ammunition in their lawsuits against the merger, given the amount of leverage it has from foreign influence.

I don't even watch much of the newer Sonic stuff compared to AOSTH (thanks YTPs), and I don't use Netflix at all, so complaining about the new Sonic show feels like it's a waste of my time.

I'll say this: The upscale at least looks better than the Super Show upscales, primarily because the original prints for SatAM are not as fuzzy/VHS-y as Super Show's original prints were. But that doesn't mean I won't dislike their decision for upscaling Sonic, though.

I got a blank Simpsons tape from this last year, which was highly worth the buy for how it contained broadcasts of some episodes from one of the small number of local ABC stations it used to run on back in the day. Looking forward for another score this year!

I may be in my late 20s and I haven't seen much of the shows on the channel outside the ones I've previously seen like Mario and Yogi, but that doesn't stop me from discovering old shows that were long before my time like Linus. And I get great enjoyment watching a show through initial discovery.

I just don't want it to stray away from it's mission of showcasing classic toons and "get with the times" by showing more of the newer stuff (looking at you, that one pro-Tubi Redditor who's a hard 80s/90s boy). CN also made that decision in the 2000s and look what happened to them.

Seeing the announcement of the Situation Animation block on MeTV Toons' Facebook, I'm curious to know one thing. I thought Warner owns the Gilligan spinoff, but then I saw the CBS Media Ventures (Paramount) copyright caption in the show's image. Are the TV and home video rights split or something?

I love everything about this and how crispy this Tracey Ullman short looks in the film scan. If only the show crew and the folks at Disney still have these shorts in mind for a modern release, if they even care about the shorts' impact.

Please, Simpsons crew, or people working at Disney, if you're even listening to your nostalgic fans, find these shorts and put the whole series on home video or streaming before it's too late.

Ok, I was NOT expecting a 35mm film print of a Tracey Ullman Simpsons short to show up here. It looks like it recently got scanned with a film it was shown with, and at least the quality still holds up after being in storage for decades. Also, I can't take my eyes off of seeing the cel edges.

As excited as I am to see the hedgehog on the same TV channel as Bugs Bunny during weekdays, it's a shame that they'll likely be using the upscaled masters that WildBrain did for their recent upconverted classics package. The current channel airings of Super Show come from that package.
