Persian proverb of the day جوجه را آخر پاییز می‌شمارند Formal pronunciation: jujeh rā ākhar-e pāyiz mishomārand Literal meaning: "Chicks are counted at the end of autumn." ~Don't count your chickens before they're hatched
ASKED about predictions that Iran’s economy faced imminent collapse, Abdolnasser Hemmati, its central-bank governor, reached for a Persian proverb: chickens are counted at the end of autumn. Maybe so, but the early-autumn tally looks bleak. The currency has never been weaker. Inflation is at its highest since the second world war. Oil loadings fell to zero last month for the first time since 1979.

There is quite likely more than one model but in my experience the authors paid out of research funding. You'd also have control over pricing. I think regarding copycats the issue is more about referrals and having a network of clients who likely have specs they need. I'd guess the market

Instead of creating thousands of drawings you could make a website with some samples and promote the idea on social media and other academic spaces targeting potential clients, charging per drawing and see if anyone's interested and build up a portfolio from there

There might be more of a market in academic archaeology than one might think. When I was finishing my book and I got a cartographer, indexer, and copy editor I was surprised that for indexing and copy editing there are people who just focus on academic Middle East material and they're very in demand

This is the gubernatorial race, both our senators are Democrats. John Hickenlooper is up for reelection but Fiftyplusone gives him a >99% chance of winning. There hasn't been much polling in the governor's race but the consensus is the Dem Phil Weiser, the current state attorney general will win

I'm just tuning into the Colorado governor race now and the GOP candidate, Victor Marx, is a real piece of work. He was born in Louisiana to a man named Karl Marx, who Victor claims forced him at age 3 to behead a cat and at age 7 to shoot and kill a man in Mississippi.
