Or possibly the OG
Poster for "Parts - The Clonus Horror" with the tagline "The Only thing they don't use ...is the scream"
The poster features a young woman unconscious on a bed, covered with a white sheet, with a spot of blood on her side. A medical lamp illuminates her. Rows of drawers flank both sides of her, with three in the foreground, marked Eyes, Fingers, and Kidneys.

From Paul Bryant, one of the designers of Babylon 5, speaking about the Omega Destroyers - the big Earthforce Warships
"Originally the engine section was also a complex gimballed affair because when turning a large centrifugal mass the turning thrust axis is not intuitive. For example if the centrifuge is rotating clockwise, to turn the ship to port then the thrusters should be pointing down thrusting upwards. I explained this to the guys and they looked at me like I had two heads. I think it was Ronny who said 'Look, just stick some big engines on the back and walk away'. We were under a time crunch as always and that's just what I did. (Nobody asked me where the fuel was kept either :). The inspiration for the eventual engine design was WWII pulse jet engines"

Yeah, probably. It was huge in the Marine Scout Sniper divisions up until a few years ago. Lots of people went through the training ignorant of the darker history behind those symbols were, or rationalizing why it was okay to use in this context. I can easily see a black marine getting that tattoo

A bit of pedantry here - RADAR is an active system so gaydar wouldn't be silent in a signals sense. You would need a gaydio reciever or gaydrophone – ideally both – if you wanted silent gay running.
Image is of text, which reads:
I had a navy friend who insisted he didn't have gaydar, but he did have gaynar. He couldn't detect other gays silently, but he knew if he made a loud gay noise in a room that they'd ping back.

"How can you not be angry?"

"I am angry," the werewolf said. "But unlike you, I don't have the luxury of showing without being called a monster. Without someone taking it as a sign of proof that I need to be put down like a rabid dog, that I'm just like what the stories tell you."

"But everyone gets angry... that's human."

I've seen other sources simply say "through the front." Which this could accurately describe. I think we're going to need more photos or footage of this side of the church before making a firm call on this.

Fucks. A large part of it is because I love the action on this thing. Rather than the hammer being behind the round and reset by the exhaust, its in front and reset by the round pushing it back into place.
A cutaway diagram of the action on the gyrojet pistol.

It is separated into four sections, with simplified drawings

The first section depicts two bullets stacked on top of each other in the magazine. The hammer is locked forward and down in front of the bullets. A Red block representing the firing pin sits behind the top bullet.

The second section depicts the hammer striking the top bullet and pushing it back into the firing pin. The primer in the bullet is depicted as red to indicate it has been activated.

The third section shows the activated bullet flying forward, with a little jet out the back. It is pushing the hammer back down.

The fourth and final section shows the activated bullet almost clear of the hammer which is now back in its cocked. The second round is now in position to fire.

The infamous "Afghanistan Stability PowerPoint slide"
An attempt to diagram the various factors and connections going into the stability of Afghanistan and their relationship to each other. It is an absolute rats nest of overlapping arrows and colored labels.
General Petraeus was famously quoted as saying "When we understand this slide we'll win the war" and we all know how that turned out.

When we fuck up today, all we can do is apologize for what we did and work to make ourselves better so we don't fuck up again tomorrow. It was big of you to come back and say this. You deserve kudos for it. I don't have any kudos currently, so I hope you'll accept these kudus instead.
A picture of two kudus in tall grass, looking at the camera. One kudu is in front of the other. The coats are a medium brown, the color of perfectly toasted bread. They have several thin white vertical stripes that start at the shoulder and repeat back across the body.

Kudus are a species of Antelope native to Africa. They're notable for having two large horns that spiral upwards, like a corkscrew or stretched out slinky.

This one is a forgery Its from a signed copy of Trump's "Art of the Comeback" Someone has lazily erased the original note and pasted over the description on the dust jacket. The unaltered image is more compelling since it has the long-tailed "Donald" signature seen on the Epstien letter.

Hey, this is fake. Someone took the sketch from the epstine letter and pasted it on a bunch of other letters. Look at how the sketch is much sharper, and a much deeper black than the underlying text. Spreading stuff like this undermines the credibility of the original documents.

Christopher Rufo illustrates why this strategy of trying to retreat from "unpopular" language not only fails, but actively hurts campaigns. If you end up associated with a neutral or positive term, retreating from it just gives your opponents space to redefine it into a negative one, and you end up
2 Tweets from bigoted republican Strategist Christopher Rufo, the text of which reads
"We have successfully frozen their brand -'critical race theory'- into the public conversation and are steadily driving up negative perceptions. We will eventually turn it toxic, as we put all of the various cultural insanities under that brand category.

The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think 'critical race theory.' We have decodified the term and will recodify it to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans."

I think the Christopher Rufo CRT tweet highlights why Third Way's plan is a losing idea. Retreating from terms you have been associated with gives your opponents space to redefine the terms to their own ends. Before you know it, programs to protect farms from invasive pests are slashed cuz "DEI"

Big Mike Dukakis Energy
Famous picture of former democratic presidential candidate Mike Dukakis in a tank.
Dukakis had been criticized for being "weak on defense" and tried to recreate Margaret Thatcher's "Iron Lady" photograph. Instead he looks like a weird little imp in an oversized helmet. The campaign backfired and the democrats lost in a landslide to George HW Bush

I went to this particular Dairy's Facebook page out of curiosity and yeah, the whole thing is dripping with "Look at these great benefits of raw milk! Its so good and healthy and fights cancer! The government is lying when they say it's unhealthy! *Only for pets (in minecraft)"
Screenshot from Keely Farms Dairy of them sharing an article from Glenn Beck.

The preview text reads "As a general rule, absolutes are (almost) never true and that is the case with raw milk. To claim that raw dairy is only harmful and there are nk benefits to consuming it is a clue that the government, dairy lobby, and so-called experts are lying to you"Screenshot of the Keely farms Facebook page sharing an article from the Raw Milk Institute thaf claims "Milk Kefir Fights Cancer!"Image of the Keely farms dairy price list that includes various sizes of raw milk, raw milk Greek yogurt, raw milk kefir, and raw milk feta cheese. The price of a gallon of Raw Milk is $12.

Circled at the bottom of this section is their disclaimer, which reads "Due to the requirement of Florida Law and pasteurized milk ordinance, raw dairy products are sold as pet or dairy feed."

You invoked the authority of the founders, making an insulting assumption supporters of this change hadn't thought this through. Jeremy didn't attack you. He disagreed with you, pointing out the founders had no special authority compared to people today. In response you compared him to Trump.

Show this still to 100 random people with no further context. How many of them do you think would assume the guy in black was about to do a mass shooting? Can you honestly say you believe that number would be less than 50? If not, then we agree there was reasonable cause to believe he was a threat

harpers.org/archive/1941... Published in August of 1941, five months before the US joined WWII.
Exceprt from the article: Mr. J over there is a Jew. Mr. J is a very important man. He is immensely rich—he has made a fortune through a dozen directorates in various companies, through a fabulous marriage, through a speculative flair, and through a native gift for money and a native love of power. He is intelligent and arrogant. He seldom associates with Jews. He deplores any mention of the “Jewish question.” He believes that Hitler “should not be judged from the standpoint of anti-Semitism.” He thinks that “the Jews should be reserved on all political questions.” He considers Roosevelt “an enemy of business.” He thinks “It was a serious blow to the Jews that Frankfurter should have been appointed to the Supreme Court.”

This is a cave bear skull. Your brain was designed to survive in a world where at any moment one of these could come crashing out of the bush trying to eat it. Realizing that gives you such a better understanding of human behavior & emotion.
Person in a black shirt and blue pants holding a cave bear skull in both hands. The length of the skull is wider than their torso. It could bite down on their entire middle and still have teeth to spare.
