I have insta-bought every generation of TV except the first one. I cannot imagine ever enjoying a TV without one attached. For me, that product *IS* the interface to TV. $299 is fucking joke! What are you doing, Apple?! If it isn’t going to be a full on gaming console, it should have come […]

Old Siri is unironically better, by a lot, for my use. I’ve switched back using the Screen Time options. Timers, better. Reminders, better. Home-related shortcuts, way faster, and thus better. But it was the **second time** Siri “ai” sent a private (medical, not spicy) message intended for my […]

@siracusa This appeared for me, too. Thanks for posting because I could *not* figure out how to make it go away!

I did enjoy a lot of things about the iPhone Air, but this 18 Pro is a vastly better screen size. Too bad I can’t have the best of both worlds. 🤷‍♂️ Pro is heavy. Pro is still wobbly as shit on a table (sigh). Pro is Burgundy. #iPhone

This piece does a lot to capture my deep internal struggle with the pervasiveness of toxic “ai” features slithering their way into the education space (my profession). It’s not quite the same as being a coder, but the conclusion gets to the reason I am so vehemently opposed, even if others […]

Oh, and extra points for a tech presentation in 2026 without a single mention of godsdamned culture-dissolving “ai” slop. Hell yeah. #BlizzCon

So much more excited about #BlizzCon than the Apple event this year. Opening with Heroes of the Storm?! Bestill my beating heart. 😭 I mention the comparison because the hyper-produced videos Apple does now are just so so so lifeless that it makes me sad. These sometimes clunky, but clearly […]

Burgundy 256 Nice that there’s no need for continuous refreshing or decision trees to navigate while half asleep due to the “Get Ready” process and whatever queueing system the Apple Store App uses these days. Long way from the sun blasted line in front of a giant wall of glass in the Salt […]

@KingShawn I have a strong memory of my uncle with his feet up on the couch with a computer magazine saying, “1 gigabyte? You couldn’t fill that in a lifetime!”🤣

@KingShawn I also went with Burgundy, regular Pro. 256 is plenty for me, thank the gods. And yep. Gotta be there bright and early. There have been a couple times over the years when it was 3am if I recall correctly. 😴

Man, I waited way too long on this one. What a great experience, from the legendary opening to the last post credit moment. Play it if you haven’t.

MARVEL
SPIDER-MAN
(Remastered, PC)
2018 • Insomniac Games

Just a fantastically well-crafted superhero
game. What would it be like to be Spider-Man?
This. This is what it would be like. For me, it
sits right alongside any of the film and TV.

Loved It!

RE: hachyderm.io/@jackbrewster/11715801… I absolutely love this statement. Though, it immediately occurred to me we all have a “Dolly” in our life somewhere. It could do a hell of a lot of good in the world if we all followed this advice. Be the person who the person who […]

This makes Bluesky sound pretty good to me. Watermarking of “ai” is *absolutely essential* to *any* remotely sane future of these technologies. Anything less is brain rot. If “ai” was not only detectable but verifiably detectable, and irrevocably advertised as such, I’d have a hugely reduced […]

RE: wetdry.world/@michi/116943284617921… I loved my TiBook, though it had its flaws of course, but few computer designs have immediately looked like the future and been so far ahead of the industry. And, no power button has ever even come close.

RE: ohai.social/@pictor/117093961421687… This is indeed brilliant, and should honestly have occurred to Apple as the default a long long time ago.

Browsers were made to display walls of text, it’s the one thing they do best. They can literally render the entire War and Peace as a single static HTML page, no problems. So why is your annoying React app removing (“virtualizing”) 8 paragraphs of a tiny 10-paragraph document the moment they go […]

RE: mastodon.online/@mwichary/117035044… I went an *embarassing* number of years as *the* Mac guy in every social circle before discovering that these are telling you to drag the app icon ONTO the Applications folder icon IN THE WINDOW ITSELF. I got my first Mac in 2001, and […]
