Wow, DOW bouncing back today with gas prices reaching above $4 a gallon. The reason apparently a deal in the works to end the war by moving huge amounts of ground troops to, what, review the peace agreement? You don't move that many troops just to hang out. The are there to invade!

Just looking at Mays job number, 139K and above the expected 125K. That's not important though, April number went from 177k to 147K. How much you want to bet that May's number get revised down by 25-45K when June reports comes out. It certainly feels like someone is juicing these numbers!

A case for LLMs. I teach general chemistry lab and where as before I use to struggle to teach students how to write a simple abstract and scatter plots. Now I just tell them pass data to ChatGPT and I get back professional looking work. Easy grading for me, do the student learn anything, who knows?

So tariffs now I see. Hopefully all the people who voted Dems had a plan in place for this. I know, I had. I cancelled a kitchen renovation, cancelled a cruise, so that I have a bit extra cash. Those who voted for Trump probably figured economy was going to boom so talk about coming pain.

with LLM, I think of it in terms of Legos. Before LLM, developers had to have the final product in mind, build the bricks, and assemble the bricks. Now with LLM the bricks are mostly built, but developers still need to guide the assemble into the final product.
