Reading about video game enemy AI, the COOL kind of AI. Blessed to have resources from some of the best to do it.

It shows a simple scenario of some waypoints and some enemies, with the NPC selecting a "safe" space where it can only be seen by its selected enemy.

This is done by first finding the nodes that the selected enemy can see (Va), then finding the nodes that other enemies can see (V!a), and then finding a node that is in one set but not the other (V'a)

It describes a way to use line-of-fire in A* pathfinding heuristics to find the best path around a battlefield.

For a link from one point to another:
+19 base travel cost (i.e. distance)
+50 if both nodes in hostile LoF
+25 if one node in hostile LoF
+50 if crossing friendly LoF

It describes an objective system that has a tree of prioritized tasks. The tasks are self-describing with priority, scripts, and capacities.

Squads are "poured" in at the top and filter down to the most important tasks to fill RIGHT NOW - basically, it's a plinko machine.

Finally got Platinum in #DeathStranding2 after 110 hours! I'm free! It was very similar to the first one: 30 hours of amazing story 30 hours of fun building and side quests 30 hours of total drudgery 20 hours of sunk cost fallacy

Two graphs that describe my morning. The first one, a heart rate monitor with a spike at 4:25am. The second one, a humidity sensor with a spike.... also at 4:25am 🤨 Whoever correctly guesses how these are related wins a prize (the prize is me saying "Yup, you win!")
