I’ve been scheming on this to replace our (maybe 1960s? definitely kinda scary) gas stove at some point in the future, I’ve seen some decent induction units on the ReStore website at a reduced price from new models

Recently had to put in a heat pump (a long term goal that popped up earlier due to a system failure) and were told by the numerous residential hvac companies that the incentives previously available through ETO have been all used up

World Foods has good flatbread options, some made in-house, but not sure about the pocket variety

I haven’t used Facebook in years and the buy nothing and other community groups are something I miss (as well as the migration from Craigslist to fb marketplace). High hopes for this alternative!

It’s a beautiful day to get out there! By chance, do you have any local resources to share for long covid care/ treatment that you could share? I’ve been battling through finding providers and getting care and it’s exhausting

The GoFundMe has raised over $30,000 at the time of writing. Once again, it feels silly to talk about restaurants opening and closing while people are being torn from their families and communities—let’s keep the fight going against this system of brutal immigration enforcement.

Could a Waterfront Park Makeover Revitalize Portland?

The park, built in place of a freeway a half century ago, often sits empty.

No contact/low contact with family here and feeling some stress over the past couple weeks with the low contact side and with plans to travel to my hometown to see friends. Hope you’re able to get out this weekend and spend time with chosen family/enjoy some life-affirming activities.

Did a few laps on the Springwater and Tilikum yesterday on test rides, and bought an e-bike today! So excited to get back to being on a bike every day

witnessed a big ass pickup truck in the rose lane on couch today and wondered if we could put those backward spikes in the rose lanes, they’d go down for the buses

haha, yeah. The way we travel and leisure is complicated and fraught with white supremacy obviously, but so much of it boils down to - well, I wanna go somewhere affordable/beautiful/walkable/with ecological diversity and green space.. Like, babe, we could have that here!

I think this is also tied to how we (societally) view vacations - prioritizing escape and adventure in new places opposed to taking time away from work to connect in our own communities, get to know our own extended environments

Thanks for the info! Did you have a good shop experience?

ndd @natdefdre.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

ooh, would love to know your takes. I’m thinking about an e-bike for commuting and grocery runs and looking for an upright model with some cargo capacity but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the finding a shop and comparing models. There are so many options!
