Tonight I added patchwork to the bottom of a dress that was slightly too short and then I made an overskirt from this lovely purple glitter fabric. I have Sculpey in the oven so I can make a surprise gift for my spicy friend.

Fuck you, ruffle. I was sewing it into a dress when I made a wrong stitch. I go to fix it, cut the wrong thread, and the whole gathered trim unravels. You know what? I am going to have a cup of coffee and get back to it. Mdrf next week? Gotta get this outfit finished.

Why sleep when I can think about sewing? I'm suddenly inspired by the fashionable Strawberry Switchblade. I sketched out an idea for a skirt. Not that I need another project, but it's good to plan for when I do get to it. Two skirts at minimum, a blouse. Then I can work on this.

I forgot the whole goal of my sewing was to only use secondhand materials. I'm looking at fabric and trim online when I should be digging through my own inventory and seeing what would work. Make my own bias tape? Errgh. Sounds like a lot of work.

I broke my last sewing needle yesterday just as I placed the first stitch on the trim. I figured out the next project. A simple black circle skirt with a good amount of trim for a little pop of color. I need trim though. Hopefully the thrift gods will bless me today.

Fabric found at the local secondhand shop. Black and white will be used to make more patchwork fabric for a skirt. The red could be used for a skirt to wear to MDRF but I worry I will melt in the heat. Breathable fabric is helpful. I hope to finish one skirt today now that the elastic arrived.
