A feverish heft from the Uffington White Horse to Wayland’s Smithy, with raging tonsillitis. I sat by the sarsen stones to listen to the sounds of beechnuts being slung down from the tree canopy by squirrels. Stepping into the dell of this long barrow the sound kind of thickens. It’s remarkable.
