Her love for her people is boundless. I admire her for that. I think she is also very sick, and can hardly leave her bed on the best days. Someone always comes to visit her: A knight, if I had to guess. It seems that they're… close. They take solace in each other. At one point, the knight doesn't return… And I fear my dreams end there.

Nothing I can say will bring your family back. It was wrong of me to play into Graht's hands like so, and take their lives in the way I did. Even if the ends outweighed the means.

I lost my own mother when I was young. My father, I have no memory of. In an attack on my village, at the hands of Graht and the previous Wing of War, I watched her burn. I know the feeling. It was never something for me to reflect onto you, or anyone else.

Anger comes from the very soul. It is the hottest ember keeping us alive, that keeps us running, that propels us day after day after day. I think that mine has kept me alive since that fateful day. I have burned every last detail of myself to a crisp, letting the flames burn hot within me, leaving me a hollow, charred facsimile of a man.

You are much kinder than me, Morgane. You’ve always been a much better person, a much better Apostle. It's a trait I've always admired. You've always wanted to do the right thing. I have no right to ask this of you, but do not let your anger towards me spill over into how you treat others. Direct it all to this one man, rotting in a cage. I deserve it. I welcome it.
