Been looking at curtain tie-backs because I’m a boring adult and I came across this. Been trying to think of a funny caption for like ten minutes but I felt like the tl would enjoy this nonetheless

Arcane skin tone + lighting study by @jwhisktea on twt, with alt text 💚 Ekko (1/4) #arcane

A character study graphic created by @jwhisktea. The image is meant to offer a guide how different skin tones can look under different kinds of light.

There are six screencaps of Ekko in the center left of the graphic, each one labeled with a different kind of light. Since Ekko is standing in a different kind of light in each screencap, his highlight and base tone change with the environment. Beside the label of each kind of light are two squares, indicating Ekko’s highlight from the screencap and his base skin tone. The six kinds of light shown are:

Intense Rim Light - Ekko with a strong light aimed directly around his face.
Backlit Dim Light - Ekko in slight darkness with a strong light behind him.
Semi-Dim Neutral Light - Ekko under the soft light of The Last Drop.
Semi-Dim Warm Light - Ekko under a warm light at The Last Drop.
Overhead Light - Ekko with a strong bright light beaming down from above.
Intense Surrounding Light - Ekko in the middle of a bright room.

Next to the six screencaps is a bar that shows the range of skin tones displayed for Ekko from Cool Light to Warm Light.

Text at the bottom of the graphic reads:
“Darker skintones are often heavily affected by surrounding warmth or coolness of the lighting. While a very light skintone may only very in contrast in harsh lighting deeper skin-tones may also very in tone/hue. My personal artstyle leans very warm
but for the tutorial I picked something more neutral!

I don't typically suggest color picking because I believe it often washes out the subject thanks to screenshots and filters that are pretty common online or on Pinterest.

However, color picking can serve as a way to find values in different enviornments. Here i've used different light sources to help me determine what colors i'll use. Leaning darker on your base will help while drawing situations with harsh lighting.”

Next to the text are four more squares, two labeled “highlight” and two “base” to indicate the range of skin tone.

Digital illustration of a back shot of Jayce approaching Mel with flowers hidden behind his back with a front view of Mel, also hiding something behind her back, looking up at him with adoration in her eyes.

I forgot I made a bunch of sketches for the Dragon Age AU and I wrote down a short recap 👀 docs.google.com/document/d/1... #jayvik

character studies of younger Jayce and Viktor when they met in the Circle, Jayce is a templar but can also smith, and has a little round artifact in his possession.

sketches of Jayce and Viktor studying and experimenting with the artifact. They also smooch sometimes and get messed up by magic forces out of their control.

sketch of Jayce after he is reunited with Viktor but is suffering from Lyrium withdrawal

sketch of older Jayce and Viktor after Jayce finally found him

✨ THANK YOU ✨ Todays prompt? Your love! 💖 For our final day of #YuriJayvikWeek we encourage everyone to flood the tag with their favourite Yuri Jayvik creation! Be it either from this week or something old, we want to see something you're proud of having made! 💖

A Yuri Jayvik Week announcment. The porder is pink with flowers, hearts, and a sun at the top. There is a wooden sign that reads "Thank you!"

In the foreground, there are chibi versions of s1 act2 fem Jayce and s1 act2 fem Viktor holding hands. Jayce has her hair in a bun and is wearing a white shirt and brown pants and holding a wrench. Viktor is wearing a brown shirt and vest, grey pants, and her leg brace, and is holding a cane.

In the top left corner are chibi versions of hexzone fem Viktor and fem Jayce embracing like they did in their final scene. Their bodies and hair both are colored in pastel watercolor, and their eyes are closed.

In the background is a butterfly.
