Since they gave us a preview of the Zhalfir set coming next year and confirmed that the Five Suns are still a thing it's my hope that we either get actual cards for them and or maybe a new Cycle to go along with the Zenith, Beacon, Bringer and Twilight cycles/

The Blue one is BY FAR the funniest one to me as it was named by the Goblins of Mirrodin, Red Creatures who CAN'T see Blue, so when they looked at the Sun all they'd see was a "giant missing spot in the sky" lol/

Now this card is quite funny as it works on multiple levels: with it's name being a reference to how magic names cards like this and harkening back to Yuna herself being a Summoner ingame AND to Kamahl being a big deal Summoner in his own right, all in all good stuff imo/

Another thing that I LOVE to do with these card projects is to use art of forgotten cards, that most people have never seen period, and give them new life. Such is the case for this amazing art of a JACKED Pangolin from the original Jiang Yanggu and Mu Yanling decks from 2018/

One of the harder adaptations I won't lie, what ended up cinching it for me was that O'aka here draws card and Alexi is the character in art of the most famous draw engine in Magic so I think it fit well enough lol/

As I alluded with Uvulung, Kuba here is another character that only ever mentioned in one short story, thus, being prime material to have said character being expanded further upon with a real card (thankfully the Simic love to create weird little guys :V)/

In retrospect it's funny just how many Kamigawa characters I ended up using for this project, with Azami here being another famous card for just how busted she was but also a forgotten character that was never explored much after the original block. Coming across this art was 🍀/

Another one of my favorites from this batch and one that was really fun to do! Kos is one of my all time favorite Magic characters, both from back in the day in the Rav novels as well as from his cards and I think he functions as a slum dunk here for the adaptation/

When I decided to remake all of the FF cards in the deck I already knew that I'd transform Shelinda into a Selesnya acolyte, I just didn't expect the transition to be as smooth as it was lol, some cards are, mercifully and thankfully, chill like that to adapt/

Kimahri here was a challenge due to his Simic identity but it allowed me to show off more of the Malamet from Ixalan and then going into a different direction so I can't really complain, I almost went with the Nacatl but unfortunately could not find an art that fit the card/

Konda is one of the more infamous older Magic characters for just how much of a bastard he was in the story of original Kamigawa, and while Auron is his complete opposite the Exiling effect does call back to Konda's original card and how he was defeated in the story so W imo/

Valefor here was one of the hardest ones as there is no Legendary Drake in Magic, but some very famous regular Drakes instead, to keep up with the flavor I had already established I decided to go with Alandra here as both her, her dad and their drake are pretty iconic/

The idea of the cycle is that these creatures are mere apparitions of their epithets, simulacra of the original, and while they do call out to them by referencing their titles, types and abilities they are NOT THEM, thus, they are not Legendary AND temporary/
