You ever encounter something so baffling/spectacular in an SMBX episode that you have to pause to doodle it? ...no? Just Me? Okay.

Artistic interpretation of a Thwomp from Super Mario Bros. 3 with a pronounced forehead- a "fivehead", if you will.

Hey! I host like half of this and authored some of the gags in the presentation. It was a blast to work on and it's been wonderful to see the reactions; I was a bit nervous that the humor wouldn't stick the landing. I'm glad I was wrong about that. See you at the contest and see you next spotlight!

A visual representation of how quickly my art compression format, NLZ, decompresses art to the Mega Drive's VRAM, using Sonic The Hedgehog 1 as an example:

Word of advice to any parent out there that is seriously looking at shelling out the outlandish amount of cash Nintendo is asking for the Switch 2 for an upcoming child's birthday or special occasion: consider rescuing an animal instead. Consoles are temporary, but the love of a dog is eternal.

Recently, I managed to implement and test a variant of Sonic 2's SMPS sound driver into an engine-base project I'm working on called Hedgebrew (based on the source code of Sonic's Fun & Easy Adventure, hence the placeholder level design). No Hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this footage.
